Have the best of both and you two run an escalation campaign over a couple of months start at 500pts and work up in 250pts weekly

I'd agree with this as it'd be quite good, but its was like what a couple of us were discussing today. Some armies like IG and SW have most of their firepower already in these (1500-1750) and it could be quite an advantage in a tournemant. Plus, i think most people prefer having larger range of games (1750-2000-2250.)

It's hard enough getting you lot to submit two army lists on time let alone 3 or more
I like big point games but after this weekend if we ever have similar numbers I think 1750 (or 1500) and 2000 will most likely be the better size games

1750 and 2000 have always gone down well.
it was the number of people that turned up that made it slow.
Great weekend tho.

I don't think the number of people is too much of an issue, if the pairings who would take the longest amount of time still turned up to the smaller tournament then you'd still have the same wait. I think it was a good amount of people, it gave the chance to play a good variety of armies (even though 3 of my games were against grey knights )
As for the points, I'd argue that 1750/2250 were good points limits (especially because I went out to buy more grey hunters and a land raider specifically for this point range!), I enjoyed it being an extra 500pts.
One thing I've thought is that the special objectives should be done in every game. It means that you have equal chances every match to earn the extra points, rather than just 2 seperate ones (which you could be unlucky on, but have decimated during the other 3 games which didn't use the objectives). Didn't really affect me because I got them both times despite losing both games, but it just seems fair in my opinion.

If you are gunna go 1800 might aswell make it 1850 as it is abit more of a "normal" points level aqnd 50 points extra couldn't hurt.

The whole idea of 1750 - 2000 is that you can use the extra 250 to add a little spice, ie; Mephiston, a Raven, Basilisk Squadron, just something cool.
The 1750 - 2250 idea was that with 500 extra points you could totally change your army from day to day. Keep people guessing ...
100pts gets you a 5 Man Grey Hunter Squad ...

Mfw 100points isn't enough for nearly anything needing. It would most likely be used as an upgrade everything you already have and play the same list you already did. Just because necrons have become awkward in points doesn't mean every other army has. I'd pay for a chimera, for lulz and have to buff everything else in my army with 45points... Nothing I need thats in 100 points and below

I said small games makes you think what you need not hust adding small points. I.e a 1250pt lists means you need to focus more on balancing fire power and scoring and less on big guys like Mephiston, Dante and draigo and stuff like that. howmany TH/SS in a landraider are you gunna see at 1000-1250 points. Not many since they come to around 450-500pts.
