So, I've had these pictures my brother took for me with a light box set up for several months (which is how old these conversions are), and only tonight decided to upload them. They're counts-as Kroot Carnivores for my Tau army, so regardless of their varied weapons, and equipment, they're all just Kroot rifles. Lizmans!

And there's the Shaper.

But here's something I'm really proud of, the Gnarloc counts-as. It's not finished in these pictures, I still need to add some kind of armor to its chest (you can see the straps lead to nowhere), but I'll get to it someday.

I love that dude on top, just screaming to his men, "LET'S ROCK!"

Anyway, let me know what you think! (I also have a bunch of pictures of my Squats, so let me know if any of you are interested in seeing that, too.)

Thanks guys! I don't know when they'll be done since I'm working on a different army at the moment, and, well, I've never really painted any of my minis, either, I'm always afraid I'll ruin them. My brother offered to paint the Gnarloc, though, so I'll def post pics when that happens. (Right now he's all caught up in Gundam models, though...)

P.S. Love your Grot rebels, Low_K. You really might like my Squats... their story is they survived the Tyranid swarm that annihilated most of the race, and were rescued by some scavenging Grots who had rebelled against their Ork masters, and they've been rebuilding ever since.

I hadn't seen this before now, they're riding freakin dinosaurs man (allosaurous and t-rex?) that is so cool! skinks are great too, the tau have colonised literally thousands of worlds and brought many races into their ranks so I think its rather a shame GW only provides kroot and vespid, where they could introduce many more 40k races through the tau without making a whole army/codex for them. but hey that means you get to get creative like you have done. I really like these great job.

Thanks man, I'm super proud of that dinosaur, haha. I'm not sure what kind of dinosaur he is, I just found it at Walmart in the toy section. I've made another one since, but it's in storage... Maybe I'll get it out some time soon.

I agree, I wish GW made more alien races for the Tau, I've even thought about an Alien Mercenaries kit with assorted races in it, that would rule.

Kroot arms interface pretty well with saurus. Throw on some of the shoulder pads that come with saurus to cover any misalignment and you're golden. And those kroot bitz tend to fit on saurus well.

Yeah, that'd work nicely. I chose the Skinks because they're really compatible with the Fire Warrior kit, and because you get a bunch of them in the box. But I've seen some good Saurus conversions for Tau as well.
