Hello there folks. Many of you will know me from my Thousand Sons blog, set in an alternate universe they didn't turn traitor and as such, maintained many of their old customs not to mention the awesome paintjob!

I have tasked myself with writing some proper fiction for these guys as I have a short break from university and plan to make the most of it rather than watching Netflix the entire time...

While I have very little idea of what direction I will take the story I decided to write up a quick intro to get my brain running. The story starts just after the Battle of Prospero which still happened in my universe as well as the entirety of the Horus Heresy albeit with some big changes in allegiance among the legions. Anyway, enjoy the fiction, should you want to suggest and ideas at all feel free as I am very open in how this universe evolves!

Lord Azec Ahriman of the Thousand Sons legion looked over the smoking remains of his planet, stunned by the pure destruction that had ensued only two days ago. "How did it come to this" he asked himself, Prospero, the base for all the legions operations was known as a bastion of peace and prosperity across the Imperium. All that remained now was shattered and burning pyramids still towering above the clouds despite the carnage of the last year of warfare. Walking along the balcony of his private temple Ahriman had a clear view of the central section of the capital city, Tizca where the sorcerers convened. Directly below him were several hundred civilians and guardsmen mingling and moving debris to make a path into the undersection of the city. Far on the horizon flashed could still be seen from the trenches as his Battle Brothers, the mighty Thousand Sons engaged the few remaining invaders who had caused this catastrophe. A year previously Ahriman would have laughed at the idea of one of his fellow legions turning renegade but happen it did. The Space Wolves had always been known for their violence and extreme methods of warfare but never was it imagined that they would direct this fury to their once allies. The hiss of a door from behind him brought Ahriman back to his senses, turning he saw Khalophis, the leader of one of the Thousand Sons cults approaching him, clad from head to toe in his exquisite gold trimmed, red power armour, the defining feature every legionary. "The wolf menace is in full retreat my lord" proclaimed Khalophis as he stepped onto the balcony "I am not sure we could have suffered so few losses without the help of our new allies, 'tis good to know that we still have some friends in this damned galaxy no?". "Indeed" mumbled Ahriman, "the question still remains whether they will help us further though, our fleet lies in ruins and Mars has joined the enemy so we have no more incoming supplies. I fear we may have to resort to alternate means to supply the legion given that so many of our friends are embroiled in their own fights, damn Horus and his civil war! Does he not see that no good can come of this? He will become a slave to powers that even we do not fully understand, I fear for humanity my friend, truly I do". Walking away, Ahriman saw several huge cruisers lifting off in the distance, from their pale blue tint he knew they were Space Wolf vessels. Knowing that they would not make it past the inner atmosphere due to the orbital cannons being back online he allowed himself a brief smile, despite severe losses on their side, the Space Wolves had been utterly crushed, believing their cause was just they had expected to receive reinforcements from their fellow legions and thus launched straight into the fight. After months upon months of static warfare it became obvious that help was not coming and the Wolves launched everything they had at Tizca city only to have their Primarch killed on the field by the combined strength of Mangus and his newly appointed council of sorcerers. With their master dead, the traitors fell back and were eventually pushed back until the present situation with the Thousand Sons, allied with the Prospero Spireguard and several divisions of other Space Marine legions routed the surviving Wolves back to their landing zone utterly defeated. The deafening boom of the orbital cannons suddenly echoed across the city, as Ahriman turned back to face the sound he saw one of the giant Space Wolf cruisers being blown apart, the debris falling back to the ground setting everything it touched alight. "A wonderful sight is it not my lord?" spoke Khalophis who was still lurking in the shadows "Wonderful?" uttered Ahriman, "those are our Battle Brothers we just killed Khalophis, the wars we won alongside them, the countless times they stood at our side when no one else would is all gone now. They were corrupted by their primarch's greed and superstition and deserve better than this. What would be wonderful is if we could wake up tomorrow and this all be a dream". With that Ahriman left the balcony and headed toward the council chambers to discuss the fate of the legion...

That's all for now, I had expected 700 words to fill up more space than that but what can ya do? I think I want to have the story take the TSons to Mars and have them invade the factories as it both gives me the ability to make some awesome models not to mention that one of the psychic skills of the legion is the ability to control AI.

Any input is appreciated!

Bridgwater, somerset

Anything involving the thousand sons not being heretics has my thumbs up (they weren't)

I will be interested to see how you deal with the tzeentchian element of their powers
