Started putting together some deathwings today, and I hate the look of powerfists on them. Because the unit will be in the back in command squads guarding the Cyclone Launchers I don't want to pay extra for no reason. If I substituted a Stormshield on the model instead of a powerfist, which looks better in my opinion, and told my opponent the model is actually holding a powerfist, do you think there would be a problem? or should I just suck it up and deal with the fists? any other idea would also be appreciated.

Guess it depends on your opponent. If you flat out state this, it should be ok. It can get confusing however if you start using TH/SS too. Prolly not ok in tournaments.

My piece of advice... magnets. It's never a bad idea, and if you have an opponent that seriously has a problem with it, you can switch out the arm to the standard PF.
Or maybe there is a PF model from another company that looks better in your eyes?

The problem is that stormshields are intantly recognizable and do a very different function to a fist.if you don't like fists then you could give them something else, like mauls or hammers or a modified fist. Even just a bare fist and say it has miniaturised power emmitters.

Another option may be to give them some form of really large unwieldy looking ccw. Maybe something like a halberd or mace.. just something that is large, unwieldy, and is a throwback to the DA knightly origins on caliban.
