Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Morning folks,

Looking for an alternate mount for my Baron model and was thinking of either of these as potentials.

Does anyone know if they are made from metal or plastic, I'm pretty confident they will be metal but it doesn't specify on GW's website. I'd prefer plastic.

War Eagle: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440117a&prodId=prod1091023

Warhawk: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod800878

Anyone know of any different model range that may have something suitable?

Thanks

Metal models on the GW website state they're metal in the description (like the War Eagle).

Finecast models state they're Finecast on the model image.

I think this means the Warhawk Riders are plastic.

Seems I missed the metal part of metal War Eagle. Old age and eyesight and all that..

Seems a bit weird though because on GW website all the plastic kits are usually labelled 'multi-part plastic kit'. There is no description at all about what the Warhawk model is made from.

Metal wouldn't be the end of the world but being on a flying stand and having to transport it regularly I'd much prefer plastic, also be much easier to model the Baron onto (who will be plastic)

I might give them a ring and ask.

Cheers

Warhawks are of course metal.
There are some fine War Eagles in plastic in the Hobbit range:

Game Zone has some nice alternative metal Wareagles, with or without riders (for advanced modellers):

Thanks Kroothawk - those miniatures you linked are really great, very dynamic poses. Going to try and find one of the plastic Hobbit one's on e-bay first I think. Don't really want to fork out £30 and have a spare one I will have no use for.
The more I consider it the more important plastic is I think. It will be a pain to transport as it is - plastic is much more forgiving!

Might drop a line on Swap Shop as well see if I ca locate one.

Cheers

The Hobbit Eagles are large enough to be Great Eagles, War Eagles are really small iirc.

Yeah the metal War Eagle sculpts look a bit dated too. A bit of a decision to make as I don't want it too big but needs to look realistic with a guy on it too.

Think the plastic LoTR one is the best bet, plastic seem the only practical way.

Gonna list a load of Tau on Swap Shop soon prior to putting it on e-bay to try and flush one out of a member on here.
