I just painted up a few buildings from SML.

see the blog for more images. He has some rounded buildings for a more retro sci-fi look that I hope to get to in a month or so.

He posts occasionally in the terrain roundup thread. He's got some really nice stuff - especially his train. I just wish he'd get international shipping sorted out! I'd buy a few of his kits in an instant.

How is their stuff?
I am very leery with any MDF after getting MAS objective building.
So many problems with it i'll never buy MAS again. The building is warping, paint cracking (I did prime it first) Parts break super easy, parts not fitting right. Bad directions that are not clear. Its almost weirdly soggy. Even though as I said its primed before painted, and kept indoors always, not to hot not to cold. Just feels very cheap

Pretty good. I had to use a knife to separate about 5 percent of the parts that didnt cut through but that took little time. I primed it both sides in dry weather and havent had a problem since. I then clear coated after I was done. I have one set over a year old and they seem perfectly fine, rather robust.
As for your soggy houses, I wonder what state you live in. what is the humidity there? Having lived in a place like indiana near a lake that stayed high humidity all the time, and seeing how that made real houses soggy and soft after years I wouldnt be surprised.

PA. Its cold but I ddi it when it was around 50 degrees. Sprayed it first the colors I wanted and paint wasnt sticking well. So I let it fully dry. Then I primed it all black. Let it dry and then all the colors I orgionally wanted. SML terrain is a pretty good price. 175$ I think for a full table worth? Impressive as I spent 185$ on a table of Plastcraft stuff.

I really wish they'd get rest of world shipping set up because I really want to add a few of their buildings to my growing collection of sci fi buildings.

Their sharkslide terrain is their bargain brand, very easy to fill up a take with blocky terrain. But such a table would look boring if you only had that. Real cities may have a theme, but are still made of buildings of varying styles. Use them to fill the bulk of a table, but make sure to have some other pieces for variety and to add height.
The hexagonal windows get tiresome after a while too.
You will also want some sticky tack to tack in place stuff on top of the roofs to break up LoS. All of the buildings have removable roofs, which are all at the same height. So you absolutely want stuff that breaks up LoS along the rooftops so it's not just one giant killing field on the rooftops, but if you do, you run into problems where removing the roof shifts stuff around on top. Sticky tack solves that.
You'll also want to use a dremel to cut rear doors into some of their buildings, most only have 1 entrance at the front, which makes them less useful. A dremel would also be useful in changing the windows on some buildings to be something less silly.

The terrain is pretty good. The one with curves don't really have instructions, you do have to be careful putting the curve in but overall its a sturdy design. There are pictures on their facebook of them standing on their terrain. With the curved ones, once you glue the sides together, I definitely recommend putting the roof in to sit in place while it finishes drying. It was really snug because I didn't do that with one building.
I don't have the MAS Objective Building. I do have their District 5 Garage and Apartment and haven't had any issues. There was a bit questionable when trying to figure out what went where but honestly I've noticed that with all laser cut terrain, a lot of them don't have great instructions. The ones that do have videos tend to be outdated. I got some stuff from Burn in Designs and the video was great, but they made changes to the designs to improve the building but didn't update the video so I had to figure out what pieces didn't match up and where they went. I haven't had any issues with warping or chip painting. I did lightly sand various parts of the terrain lightly to give a bit of a smooth/rough finish and provide something for paint to bond better with. I didn't use gesso to prime, just basic airbrush primer (Vallejo gray). I don't live in a humid area though since I live in the Northwest (Oregon) so my results may not be the same unfortunately.
