Out of stock sucks, feel you there :(
Ooogling the battle systems post-apoc stuff. Holy crap. Its like the scifi stuff but it went super sayin or something. Also painted a fbi/cia/whatever agent I put together from my WGF survivors. Oh and Deke from Mars Attacks.
May paint some more survivors if I get time.
I also sourced a really neat little big city stretch bus in the toy aisle at k-mart.

Played my first 40k game since '08. Orks for me against SMurfs. (Well technically it was last night not today, and we only got through three turns before we ran out of time, but still I got to toss some dice.) Opponent was a cool dude. Pain boys are awesome! I had really good bordering on amazing feel no pain rolls. I laughed at all the grav. 4 of my 5 stupid buggies immobilized in terrain. Good time.

Played a couple of 40k games. My Dark Angels vs. an Astra Militarum/Ultramarines list (in the morning), then a slightly smaller game against CSM (Thousand Sons). I beat the Guard player, but the Thousand Sons guy managed to almost table me and win. I only had my Darkshroud alive at the end of that one. Between the games, I was able to get some paint on my Ravenwing Command Squad. Didn't manage to get much done, and it did reaffirm that I hate painting bikes, but it's progress.

I assembled my PHR plastic starter set. I'm just completely enamoured with it. Such an amazing little set for the price of a terminator squad. Honestly I'm half tempted to get the Shaltari starter army to purely to use as an intro army and round out the original four.
So that's me got 3500ish points of PHR now and I've still to decide on a colour scheme. I'm still entertaining this scorpion green idea but I wouldn't have the foggiest idea how to go about highlighting it etc. If probably pair it with black or metal on the leg struts etc.
On other news, I've got my balor brown airbrush paints now. Kinda disappointed its not in a dropper bottle but it'll let me progress my UCM hopefully.

I suppose more details would help. The one I got is a tube of Liquitex acrylic, which I borrowed from a friend who does paintings. I really like the color and the opacity, but it's always been a bit grainy, no matter what I do. I'd like to find something like it that might be more hobby suited.

Been spending my evenings on holiday writing DnD 5e characters for a campaign im hosting in 3 weeks. I've been trying to get my players to turn up in advance of the first session so we can write their characters and save time on the day but so far only 2/5 people have turned up. A 3rd guy has written a character on his own using an app. To save time on the day the last 2 players will have to pick from the sample characters I've written, but can change the name and personality. I've made about 7 so far.
I'm quite proud of a couple of my characters.
I've done a Noble woman swashbuckling style Fighter (think three musketeers, but a woman, using rapier, shield, throwing daggers and studded leather armour). With studded leather armour (the best light armour), a shield and high Dexterity bonus (16, +3) I've gotten the armour class up very high at lvl 1, AC 17. A feat which gives a +2 bonus when the character is using a finesse weapon (in this case, a rapier) and is hit in melee will bring the AC up to 19 (situational, only works in melee). Depending on how the player chooses to lvl up, the AC could get as high as 18, and 20 in melee using the feat, which I think is the AC cap (20). Considering that in DnD, attacks are made with a D20 (roll D20, add any attribute and proficiency bonuses, a "hit" is scored if you equal or beat the targets AC), that's pretty damn durable for a lvl 1 character wearing light armour.

Ah! I was going to link to the Handprint guide. (For pigments used in watercolours, but same diff) The bit about chromium green on the appropriate page mentions what mixes of blue and yellow pigments could match, but also that they give the same powdery texture!
If I had a tube of chromium green about here I could check against my own mini paints. (I have a few tubes of 'painterly' paint, but no chromium) Some online swatches look close to Miniature Paints dark green (roughly close to the old GW snot green, IIRC), but others look lighter. I couldn't say for certain.

Not yet finished but the Mawloc is a very nice model, rippers are cute as always and the genestealer makes me sigh when I think there is 40+ more of them to do.

Painted my 4 UCM Falcons. All I've got left for UCM is the extra Legionnaires (won't need to paint those), 3 plastic Sabres (don't see a need to paint those anytime soon), and 2 plastic Bears (May paint those to swap out my resin Bears for when I play with Mortar teams).
Now to figure out the paint scheme for my Nod themed Resistance...

Thanks for looking all of that up, it gives me some good places to start, at least. And that handprint guide is an amazing looking resource. going to be doing some reading there. The dark green looks almost there, but it seems a bit off... might still work.

So, I got a box of gors in the mail, and had two realizations:
1: I don't want to paint all of these guys brown.
and
2: They're chaos. They can be as wild as I want.
So I'm making the beastmen of many colors. The rainbow beasts. Whatever. They gonna be colorful.
