Since starting my Circle army, I've played vs Trolls, Cyriss, and Legion. The Troll and Cyriss match-ups seem pretty fair, I win and I lose, it's usually a really fun battle.

That Legion tho ... yikes. We've played a few times now. My last game I went in as hard as I could and killed his heavies as fast as possible. One of them came back from the dead because of some Legion voodoo, and in the end my army couldn't finish the task. That was with pBaldur, using his stoneskin buff on skinwalkers, and also on my warpwolves. pBaldur did a great job making my dudes more punchy and harder to kill, but it was not enough.

I've since added a Gorax to the army for more STR buff, and I'm thinking of picking up eKaya for her STR and MAT buff.

The question though, is there a good warlock, or unit combo, for fighting Legion? Is there a tactic? Stripped of all their super stealth hotness, Circle is pretty vulnerable, so what should I be building for?

... and just to preface, I'm not asking for THE list, out of a can. If you've ever fought Legion and won, I'd like to know what stood out in your game that got you there.

Thanks!

The problem is that Legion is a natural counter to Circle. Circle's tricks rely on terrain, and Legion took one look at the rule book and said "meh, I'll do with out that thank you." Baulder is known as a much more tough warlock in the Circle lineup. His trick is "Come get me. Try it. I dare you." He will likely be able to take Legion's beating and then turn it around on them. Kaya's teleportin wolves should carve up legion nicely (you can yoyo 12 inches+2" reach while they usually only charge 9.5 to 11 at most). Your opponent's pThags is a good caster, but his medium base size gets him in trouble. You're just going to have to work on your positioning game some more to fight Legion.

Baldur2 can often facetank a lot of Legion lists that don't bring Nagahs and even then, using Wraithbane instead of another animus like Dragon's Fire means you are getting something out of htings. He generates walls where he needs them. This grants cover where you need it (something guns you care about don't ignore), as well as produces areas of control since warbeasts can't end their movement on walls and not many of their mleee troops have Pathfinder.

Kaya2 can often get the alpha even against a lot of Legion armies.

Krueger2's Stormwall spell shuts down a lot of the ranged output that Legion brings that would be an issue for other Circle lists. He also has a feat that controls melee, and a gun that can threaten a lot of Legion warlocks if they arent' careful.

Mohsar's Pillar of Salt spell is pretty solid against Leigon in that it soaks-up gunshots and controls melee. Sunhummaer dings-up beasts. And he is not vulnerable to upkeep removal all that much.

Morvahna1 against non-Vayl2 is really good. As long as you can control Scytheans and keep your engine running, there's not a lot they can do to stop immortal troop swarms with her. She herself is mostly immune to shooting.

Morvahna2 does a lot of nice things versus Legion. Sunder Spirit will let you control some warbeast animi they might depend on. Purification hoses Tenacity, Spiny Growth and a lot of spells. Carnivore is good against mostly-living armies, denying the Spawning Vessel corpses and so on. You need to build her to be anti-ranged (Flesh of Clay or Woldwatchers mainly) in order not to die, though.

And sutff.
