Hi All

With the WWPD Italian campaign starting at some point soon and the lovely new Italian books giving me a heavy dose of inspiration, it seemed like a great time to buy a new army.

My plan is to do the quickest army I could think of to start with (An Elefant company) then use the core support of this force to do a HG Tank company and then finally a HG Infantry company. I hope to get all of this done before the end of the campaign so I will need to get busy painting!

This is where the army stands at the moment:-

My First list is

HQ Elefant
Elefant
Elefant
Elefant
2 Panzer III N + 2 Panzer IV
1 233 + 2 222 recon
3 nebs

16 Models! It's cheap, quick and has 4 Elefants! Whats not to like?!? (Well thats as long as you don't mind not winning many games!). From I plan on doing HG tank company which will be something like:-

HQ Panzer II M + III N
2 Panzer III M + 2 Panzer III N
2 Panzer III M + 2 Panzer III N
2 Elefants
Armoured Grens with Faust
1 233 + 2 222 recon
3 nebs

I don't need to add much to make this list, only 8 tanks and the Grens. Then I will finally turn this list into:-

HQ Panzer IV + Panzer III N
2 Panzer III M + 2 Panzer III N
2 Panzer III M + 2 Panzer III N
4 Panzer IV's
2 Tigers
2 8 Rads
4 nebs

From the above two lists I only need to paint 4 more tanks, 2 8 Rads, a Neb and an observer.

Finally I the infantry would just be adding 4 units, But I'll talk about that once I'm past all of these lists.

Thanks for reading Ben

I've not used Elefants before. Am I right in thinking they are unreliable?

They are unreliable, Overloaded and Slow. But they are FA 15 and have an AT 16 gun. Plus they look so cool!

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Main advantage is that like the Mid War Tiger list you get a handful of models and there you go, quick 2k army.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.
