I've decided that, instead of rudely hijacking other Dakkaites threads, to come up with my own Blog (that word sticks in my throat- not a fan of it).

As some of you will no doubt know by now I have fingers in a fair few pies. Probably to my own detrement. So in order to focus my brain I will be logging my activities and probably provide a few laughs for those of you who will read this madman's diary.

Most recent activity involves Mantic's excellent (if sometimes frustrating) Deadzone miniatures. I am gradually grinding my way through my small Plague force and I think to be fair, it's not too shabby. Next project will be Orx Marauders (though I can't quite decide on a scheme dammit!)

For your viewing pleasure, here's some of my 'orrible, gribbly infected muties.
Spoiler:

Also created a rather nice looking Necron Lord for my Nihilakh Dynasty army

Apologies for the awful pic quality on the Nemesor

Today's update includes some of my DA which I thought I'd put in here. Most of it is from last year, which is when I really made a push back into the hobby.

Please note, I have since been back to some of these models to correct any snots of paint that got in places it shouldn't have. I just haven't bothered to put an updated pic up yet.

Some of my brother's Xenos creatures.. He's currently working on a Tyranid Hive Fleet Behemoth splinter.

Zoanthrope- using the old metal Ravener tails.

These bits will be going on my brother's Old One Eye Carnifex to represent him being the Alpha. The claw is from the Exocrine kit with a bit snipped from bog standard Carnifex claws

Just got myself an Avatars of War Skaven warlord (OK it's called something else on the site, but for all intents and purposes it's a frakking Skaven. To say he's a bit of a brute would be an understatement. He really dwarfs the IoB plastic one..

Furthermore- I'm going to need more room to store my upcoming Heresy Miniatures Dragon.. cause damn that sucka is big!

they do exist. I thought they were a myth for he past four years. I'm both sad and glad I skipped ordering that thing back then when preorders went up, the delays would have sent me on a rampage. Love the rat ogre with the hook arm by the way , a little too smooth and clean for a rat, but nothing some battle damage wouldn't fix.

Yeah Andy's had some financial problems the past few years, but from the look of things he's pulling himself out of the mire. I'm perfectly happy to wait for mine, as his casting process for them is gradually evolving as he rolls them out. So by the time I get mine it should be pretty much a doddle to put together . I believe he's eBaying the ones people don't want so keep a weather eye on eBay for Heresy Miniatures if you want one!

Rat ogre: Yeah I had some spare bits from a DE Talos and then I saw one of the art pieces in WHFB Armies: Skaven and poof! Hook armed Rat Ogre

Yeah apart from the kicking of my ass lol. Company master got impaled to death by Hive Guard!! Deathwing Knights are SOOO worth their points. Killed x2 Carnifex lol (with the assistance from a LRR with Twin assault cannons i might add!)

**Edit: On a different note, I've been tinkering with my Marauders from Deadzone this evening. While I usually hate painting flesh, it has come out quite nicely I think. Photos to follow later. Maybe once I've dropped this killer headache caused by acrylic brush cleaner fumes! I need an extraction fan in my hobby room I think..

Soo.. Lots of things going on of late. 100 bucks worth of Mantic ruined scenery goodness ( 20% off courtesy of England football team's massive World Cup fail), 60 bucks worth of miscellaneous scenery bitz all on their way .

Effectively it's

Sci-Fi Ruined Quadrant (762pcs) as well as the freebies they're throwing in there with it!

As well as various Imperial Bastion,Aegis Defense Line etc etc bits. Next few weeks will be doing lots of buildings/ruins etc. I'll also be having a bit of fun with my Plague muties this weekend in a game of Deadzone with the brother fielding Enforcers. Only the 2nd game I've played sadly.

Sadly I didn't get any games in this weekend, nor did I get much painting done. But I have made quite a promising start on my Chaplain. ie this 'un-

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get my hands on his rather nice helmet or the base that comes with it(eBay). But I have found a suitable replacement (bare head) that has the p***ed off, kill the xenos look to it. He'll be facing as though he's looking down the iron sights of his bolt pistol about to cap something as he strides over the crest of a rocky hill. Bringing his Crozius down in quick succession.

I've found that snipping a tiny bit off the corner of the "pins" on the connector makes for a less painful assembly. You're right though- first time I tried putting stuff together= soooo many sore fingers lol.

On a different subject I today got Tactical Objective cards for nought after a fubar by GW's email system a couple weeks back.

A few weeks ago we sent you an email telling you that the Warhammer 40,000 Tactical Objective Cards were back in stock. As you are aware this was an error, and we’re really sorry its taken us so long to get in touch. You can’t trust Gretchin to do anything!

I know it’s frustrating to be told that something you’ve been waiting to get your hands on is available to buy when it isn’t. I’m really sorry. To make it up to you, we’re giving you a Virtual Gift Voucher. Use it to buy your Tactical Objective Cards, or treat yourself to something else. Either way, it’s on us.

Your voucher code is printed below. Just click here (or on the button beside the code) and log into your account. Then, you just need to click on 'My Virtual Gift Vouchers' and you'll be taken to a page where you can add this voucher code to your account.

Thanks for your understanding, and rest assured that order will be restored to the Gretchin pens in swift and brutal fashion as soon as I can find my heaviest spanner.

Yours sincerely,

Erik

So I feel I may be getting rid of my IoB Skaven stuff. Simply because painting hordes and hordes of ratmen will drive me to madness. I may go for Dark Elves instead since they're less horde reliant..

Dark elves are cool, and you can always paint them for the table, or go nuts and make them extra shiny.
