Hi Guys,

Open Fire Figures has just launched a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the production of 28mm Heroic Scale, Multipart Resin Sci Fi Special Ops.

These figures are fully modular and all arms fit all bodies giving you freedom to create unique units. Hand cast in hard resin, these figures are very easy to clean up and assemble, take paint perfectly and won't bend!

A few examples of the figures are below and full details can be found here

Cheers

Hi All,

I hope this is the right place to post this (Mods please do the necessary if not )

We're a UK based company which has started to produce wargaming figures. Previously we have specialised in 15 and 28mm commissions and collectible pre-painted Toy Soldiers.

We have lots of new releases ready for the coming weeks and we look forward to getting to know you all.

First up we have some Goblins and and a Plague Demon

Welcome

I'd recommend you post pictures of your minis here as many won't bother to click through to look at them

If you show them here you're more likely to generate interest and sales

I'm going to send the link to my dad, as he would be interested in your historicals far more than the fantasy pieces.

That Stanley Expedition actually looks really familiar, and unless multiple companies have made something similar, I wonder if he already owns it.

I'll have to check out his shelves tonight...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

You are welcome to publicise your figures on DakkaDakka.

In order to keep all your relevant info in one place, please add to this thread when you have more news, rather than starting additional threads.

It's a good idea to update the thread title with news as well.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

They look nice enough but I am not a fan of prepaints really. If I was going to buy a 1/35 model it would be to paint it myself as a display piece (Or at least that would be the aim, I would be unlikley to succeed.)

Still best of luck to you.

And we also have another Support Weapon. This time its an Area Effect Rifle. Issued to select special ops units this is a multi barrelled, high powered, portable Las rifle design to lay down covering fire for advancing units.

Ok the warriors are quite wide and some of the weapons look a bit fiddly. i am also not a fan of the helmets, could you make a version where those mono visors are flipped back?

Also those shoulder armor/guards? look strange IMHO for the knees they look OK but for shoulders make them cover the shoulder or break them up in several parts. Also a commander head would be nice.

Looking forward to the progress.

The concept looks great and I like the helmets personally, I just wish they were in true scale I think overall they would be much more better looking if sculpted in true scale IMHO. Anyhow good luck!.

They're very wide... Were they intentionally chubby? Is that supposed to be the combat gear bulking them out?

Details are quite soft, and for the quality the prices seem quite high... You're pushing up towards GW Guard pricing, with nowhere near the quality.

As a budget alternative these would be fine - painted up, I suspect that they would look quite good as a force. I particularly like the weapon designs... (although would echo the call for an alternate head without the scope thing)... but I think you will struggle at those prices.

The figures look clunky and undefined. There's no real personality to any of them, nothing to make them engaging to the eye. Some of the guns look okay, but the white plastic ones look bulbous and visually unpalatable. I think I'm probably going to take a pass.
