I've been doing guard since high school back in 2003, but I've been out of it for the last few years. I hadn't painted in a few years (until this week), but I really wanted to knock out the pile of assembled minis I've just had sitting around.

Here are a few of my tanks and infantry. I've got another 60 Cadians sitting in the basement to finish sometime this week. At least they are only 8 or so colors.

As you can see, I'm the laziest base-finisher on the planet, LOL. Also, I never give my men's irises. Sue me.

Hope you like them! Please give me any tips you may have.

If it makes you feel good, im envious of your skills

I like them a lot. I think you can do a bit more with the bases but thats down to personal taste.

Other than that keep it up dude!

One thing that stands out are the eyes, do they have pupils? It may just be the camera.

Thanks! I really took my time with the tanks. I kept finding crap on them to paint. It never ends!

No, I never paint pupils. I just end up dicking them up.

I can see the effort. very clean and tidy.

As for the eyes I know the theory behind it. What you do is before you paint the face, you do the white but go way out of the eye boundries. You then do a black line through the eyes. When you paint the skin on the face (leaving the eye) it will look like a decent eye with pupil.

There is a good video of it somewhere, but im at work so cant show you.

But you have some good skills, I advise you practice on a few spare heads how to do eyes so they dont look as scary.

Damn mate, unfortunate. Those all green bases really kill the minis for me. Otherwise they are well painted. Thanks for sharing

I was about to say the exact same thing. Generally speaking i like simple black rims and a nice scenic base.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.

I love the colour scheme itself, very crips and clean
IMHO the tanks could do with some weathering and the sentinal bases need to be finished.
Other than thay, very nice job

Those are my penal legionaires! Glad you like them.

Is it true that they are gone from the new codex?!?!?

Nice models, clean and crisp. Id have gone for military grey instead of ocean grey though myself, would fit with the corridors better

Yup no more penal legion :(

Use them as conscripts.....

Cool! You're the only other person I've seen use that scheme for your steel legionnaires.

Awesome looking guard there, shame about the basing (It can really make an army stand out) and nobody should notice the eyes at tabletop level. Making me jealous that I've never finished a guard army!
