Hello guys/experts

Im new to this World of warhammer fantasy, but how the hell did i manage to avoid this for so Many years? (Not on purpose)

Okay, so for the first time ever, im trying to build an army (2500-3000 points) Haven't decided yet but whatever makes good sense and what you guys recommend.

I decided on Warriors of Chaos, for several reasons, but mostly because of their models

So what I did next, was to get Down the nearest Games Workshop store and get myself, some new models.

I endes up buying:

- 2x packs of Warriors
- 1x pack of Warhounds
- 1x pack of Chariot
- 1x pack of Daemon Prince
- 2x packs of Skullcrushers
- ordered a couple of Halberds upgrade packs

Now i have something to start up with, atleast thats what i thought.

I Got back home all excited and read some more about the schemes etc...
Just to find out, they (WoC) worshipped, 4 kinds of Chaos gods, which made it all much more exciting, so after Reading about all of Them, I was kind of torn between Khorne and Nurgle. I mean, I just LOVE the juggernaught models and i cannot imagine an at without Them nor without the Daemon Prince.

Okay, so after Reading a lot of stuff on different forums about Khorne and Nurgle armies, i realized, nearly everwhere i looked, people would laugh at Khorne armies, as they Are "too easy to bait" and has no magic phase (hate that part).
It all seemed like nurgle would be the best choice, especially for an beginner like myself.

So Can you guys help me make an army out of that list, feel free to ADD stuff, but please dont Remove skullcrushers and/or my daemon prince, atleast not completely.

Maybe you have some ideas to keep my juggernaught and make it look more like a nurgle thing , without removing the Whole juggernaught model.

Id would like my army to be pretty competitive, if possible.

Thanks guys

Taking a cheap fire L2 is strategically useful for clearing chaff and other targets of opportunity, which will help with the frenzy baiting.

Frenzy baiting, incase you don't know what it is, is forced pursuit and overrun. Normally when someone chaffs you, they will block your movement and angle away. If you aren't frenzied, you kill them and reform, wasting a turn. If you are frenzied, you must overrun - which often leads to you getting flanked. Frenzied cavalry is particularly challenging because of swiftstride - it is very easy to start your turn in the middle of the board and end up in the corner. Frenzied units always need musicians for swift reform.

My friend started WoC and to get his feet wet he is running an undivided list. Slaanesh Ogres to operate independently, nurgle knights to be sticky, halbred flaming khorne to be a hammer, and Tzeetch shield warriors to act as a bunker and anvil.

Hola...Welcome to WoC! Your off to a great start in terms of building an army, I have a few suggestions i'd like to make to help you reach your goal for your army.

First off, I just want to say you made some excellent choices when it came to buying units to get you started. I started my Warriors army about this time last year and the list of stuff i bought looked very similar to yours. You will use everything you purchased in your army in some capacity, contingent of course upon who you are fighting.

The core of my army most games consists of MoN (or MoK) Warriors with Halberds running alongside at least 2 MoN Chariots and 5-10 dogs with Vanguard to serve as chaff. Festus the leechlord in a block of Halberd Nurgle Warriors is just wrong since he gives them Poisoned Attacks (every dice roll of a 6 when you are rolling to hit auto wounds), Regeneration (5+), and he is a level 2 Lore of Nurgle Wizard. Not to mention the model is flipping awesome and probably my favorite in all of warhammer. He provides a huge boon to a unit that really doesn't need it. I normally give them the banner of swiftness to help them get to where they are going quick, fast, and in a hurry.

And of course I can't say enough about how nasty chariots are, especially since they are core now (7th edition they weren't). I have two right now, and have two more ordered my goal is to get 6 so i can run an outrider army (no infantry models) if i feel like it. The gorebeast chariot is no slouch either and really hard to kill if your opponent doesn't bring something like Lore of Metal to bear. Anyways let us know if you have any other questions.

Wow guys... Just wow! I hoped for these kind of responses, but didnt know what to expect, but you guys explains your opinions so Well

I had no idea it could be "easy" to be a newcomer

Andy06r, thanks for explaining the Whole bait thing and great idea about the undivided, i Think im Gonna jump on that wagon. Maybe with some black/silver armor and some colorful fur and cloak to break the dark colors a little but

nathan2004, so Nice to hear, that my purchases Wasnt all bad and wrong.
It sounds insane about the Festus

Hmm, the chariot is core, when builded with 2 horses, Right? if im honest i only bought it cause it looked good hehe, but id love to get in use so how would you suggest building it?

Ive been browsing a lot of different lists and so Many lists contains Chimera and Throgg and trolls.

Would it be a bad idea to grab myself Throgg and some trolls or some Chimera?
Id love to hear your opinions on this

What would you guys recommend getting:

Throgg + 8 Trolls

Or

2 Chimera

In a list like this:

- Daemon Prince
- 18 Warriors
- 5 Warhounds
- 5 Warhounds
- Gorebeast Chariot
- 3 Skullcrushers
- 3 Skullcrushers

Either would work well, chimera will happily eat 10 models a ago if they get lucky (attacks, tail attacks, breath weapon, thunderstomp) whereas trolls are able to make fun of Elf McNimble by puking vomit over his shiny suit of armour.

Depends on how many points you are gonna play. Throgg makes Trolls core so that will help you meet minimum core requirements. Chimeras work great in pairs if they are running alongside your Prince (assuming you give it Flight). This can serve as your flying hammer and its something most units won't be able to withstand as Welsh pointed out above. I personally went with the Chimeras and haven't regretted it at all since like you said everyone and their mother is running some type of Monster Mash list. Taking Throgg, at least in my opinion, commits you more to running this type of list then the Chimeras. Regarding the chariot, I would magnetize the horse and gorebeast on them that way you can run them as either. Something i wish i had did with mine especially since i own 4 Regular chariots and 2 Gorebeast chariots.

Can't go wrong with a Nurgle Daemon Prince. and chariots rule.
