So this is a random list I thought up earlier today. I'm not going to be using it for competitive play (have you ever seen a 1k tourny anyway?), but instead mainly for fairly low-key games with friends, but ones I'd quite like to win, nonetheless. The idea of the list is that it's quite shooty, and aims to flood the board with bodies (which can shoot) and plenty of Synapse. I fear it may be too little in each regard, but it was the best I could do with only 1000 points. Just looking for some feedback!

Here's the list:

Changes in red

HQ

Hive Tyrant - Wings, Hive Commander, 2x TL Devs, - 250

Elites

Zoanthrope - 50

Zoanthrope - 50

Venomthrope - 45

Troops

30x Termagants - 120
Tervigon - Cluster Spines, - 200
14x Termagants - Devourers - 112

Heavy Support

Exocrine - 170

TOTAL: 997

--------------------------------

So the Devilgaunts outflank, but that's the only real trick. Other than that, the idea is just to advance forward whilst shooting, picking off the highest priority targets first. Termagants will aim to hit combat against the likes of Fire Warriors.

All comments appreciated! Thanks in advance

I would try to drop Misma and Dev off gants and get a Venom. That would give you a lot better saves.

I'd give the tyrant a stranglethorn cannon and drop the other upgrades, lose a zoey and some Termagants and get an acid spray Tyrannofex in the list.

But that's just me, I love the ignores cover s6 torrent.

Word, I'd drop the Exocrene, and Regen to buy a Tyranofex (acid spray) with Thorax Hive, and Adrenals. In low point games Big Bugs dominate, and Tyranofex is about as Big as you can get But I like Zoeys for their Psychic support abilitys.

Ooh, that's a good call, was perhaps trying to be a bit too shooty! I'll make that change.

As for the other suggestions, the Exocrine is mainly there for anti-MEQ/TEQ. I can put down a lot of shots with the Flyrant, Devilgaunts and the (hopefully) numerous other gaunts, but their AP is terrible, so I really need something that can take out 3+/2+ models at range. I'm sticking with the Flyrant's TL Devs, they're just the best, full stop.

I think your list right now is pretty good.
Personally, I don't think the whole outflank trick is worth the points it costs. I would rather drop hive commander and the devs on the terms to allow you to have 2 full squads of 30 terms.
But that's just me. I prefer to run my nids basically bare bones so I can get as many bodies as possible on the table.

Well, I have to say, I am a big fan of the outflanking Devilgaunts, and they've done really well for me in the past, so I'll probably keep them in.
