Alright, I've been playing around in Battlescribe for a little while, and I've come up with a list that will (hopefully) be a decent Ultramarines GravStar.

HQ:

Chapter Master - TH, SE, AA, Bike - 250

Tigurius

Troops:

Bikes - 5 Bikes, 2 Meltaguns

Bikes - 5 Bikes, 2 Meltaguns

Bikes - 5 Bikes, 2 Meltaguns

Heavy:

Dev Cents: 6 Dev Cents w/ Grav Cannon + Hurricane Bolter, Omniscope

Allies - Tau Empire -

Buffmander: Command and Control Node, MSSS, Shield Generator, Vectored Retro-Thrusters

Kroot Squad

Thoughts:

I've gone back and forth on the Puretide chip, but, seeing as the Cents already get rerolls with their Amps, the need for a Puretide chip for the blob doesn't seem necessary. I'm currently guessing that Tigurius will be rolling twice on the Telekinesis table to get Gate of Infinity, then going on Divination and hoping for the 4++.

I was originally planning on giving the Bikes Grav guns, but, due to points (and a lack of anti-tank), the meltas seemed like a better option to deal with enemy armor. The loss of extra Grav shots will kind of suck, but, currently, with 30 Grav shots coming out of the Centurions, both rerolling hits and wounds...

I mean it seems nasty, but thats maybe to many of your eggs in one basket in a 1500 point game. The only thing starting on the board doing damage is the grav star and 3 bike squads. Thats 4 units. I would drop 2 cents for somme more fire power, maybe a TFire cannon. 4 cents will still put out a ton of damage, it just wont be such of a huge point sink

Not a huge fan of grav stars, just because they suck in cc and can thus be held up.

Not with Buffmander having VRT, and thus Hit and Run. Unless a seriously killy dedicated assault unit hits it it's going to bounce out after the initial assault with plenty of killing power left. The likelihood that such a unit makes it to the Gravstar unscathed is also unlikely given the amount of grav it can put out. On top of that, you've got a beatstick commander to help in assault.

I cannot remember the exact I value of a tau commander offhand, is it 2? If so you have a 2/3 chance of failing the H&R test (the commander has to take the test because he has the wargear).

What Astro said, and the I value of a Commander is 3.

That's a good thought. It'd allow my bikes to pick up gravguns again, and still leave me with 40pts to spare. Heck, that'd allow me to put Missile Launchers on my Cents... hmm...
