FAQs on Black Library Site

Same as old ones but missing Tau and Space Marine for 40k, Wood elves for fantasy, they may be updating these and not others

Yeah, they're the same, they're not complete either (no Tau or Daemons for 40K for instance)

I guess Digital Editions is a good fit for them though.

Heh, I figured they would show up at the Black Library.

Where are the foreign FAQs though? I need them to show my opponents that Space Marine Terminators do not, in fact, have 2+ invuls.

No changes. It's not like anything really needs an update though.

I beg to differ.

- The Spanish and French versions of the new IG codex do not allow veterans to have 3 special weapons

- Escalation does not state what happens if a Super Heavy Walker moves through difficult terrain

- The Predatory Fighter rule in the Lizardmen Army book does not specify if it affects supporting attacks or not

- Legion of the Damned immediately lose turn one since they all have to start in reserves

- Manticores and Deathstrike have minimum ranges, even they cannot fire directly

- One of the new orders in the IG codex allows infantry models to automatically pick out a target model in an enemy squad, since it grants them "precision shots"

- The printed version of the Escalation book as that stupid "Titan Hunter" mission special rule, which is just a fancy name for Tank Hunter (the author's attempt at being clever I guess), but it resulted in some people coming to the bizarre conclusion that Super Heavies are immune to Tank Hunter, even though such an immunity was not mentioned under the relevant rules section.

Lets hope this isn't a prelude to pay for FAQs as black library is set up nicely for pay $$$/£££/€€€ for 4-5 page stories the authors wrote during afternoon tea.

The GW site is a webstore; why would you be able to find FAQs about the game they sell on there?

Oh goody, someone is claiming now that the Tau FAQ is gone, everybody can take shielded missile drones again..

I think its on the BL site because digital editions staff actually get off their butts and update things...

I downloaded them and found my computer claims its the wrong type of file. Might just be my computer but I don't know.

For reference, I use an HP Pavilion laptop (touchscreen variant). Intel inside core i5 processor, with Windows 8.

If anyone has this same setup can they check this for me? And can those with different systems check too? There seems to be nothing else wrong with my system, and the computer is clean and barely 4 months old, so I think that the FAQs may be duds.

A machine that new, it is possible it doesn't have a PDF reader, try downloading Acrobat and then see.

I'm using XP on an HP100 and they worked fine. Try downloading them individually instead.

Looks like they haven't posted the FAQs past Dark Angels. Sounds like they might be re-writing the newer codices' FAQs, since some of them had problems (Burning Chariot-Exalted Flamer, CSM:CS Possessed unit change, synapse re-group issue etc.). Just a hope though.

No DOC, HE for fantasy either, both have nagging problems, maybe fixes coming.
