Hey folks, I'm new to Dwarfs having picked up the new book when it arrived but I was anxiously waiting for the new release for many years before taking the plunge. I've only now been able to push forward due to some job issues (i.e.: keeping one) that are now resolved.

I'm looking at building a 2000pts army for my club's regular tournament event but I want this list to be semi-competitive and a looker for the painting/display award. Essentially, I'm looking to build a diorama of sorts so I need something with theme and energy to it, which I think I've come up with.

- I've gone with a Runelord as general as I want something different from the consistently-prevalent Runesmith-Runesmith-Thane BSB mould going around. Plus, at T6 he will be difficult to do away with, especially as he will be tagging along with the Hammerers (so he can't be challenged and cornered). Conversely, this will help with their own survivability given the MR and the presence of Grungni on the BSB.

- The Thane BSB will tag along with the Quarrellers, the secondary Runesmith will be with the Warrior block.

- Three Gyrocopters seems an absolute minimum if I'm going to take them at all, as two or less just seems like they would die too quickly before they are any use past a distraction.

Could I grab some feedback on this list from some of the local veterans please? Thank you in advance.

First off: Photos when it's finished! Sounds like a really good project.

I'm not sold on Cinderblasts for the Ironbreakers. If you're in 8" range, you're almost always better off charging instead. It can't be used for a Stand and Shoot reaction.

I hear what you're saying about the Runelord, but there's very little difference in terms of ability between a Runelord and a Runesmith. Still it does fit the theme you're going for, and it is a tough character.
