Hi All,

Hope all is good..... just thought i would throw my 2p worth in regarding rivets as i have seen there are a few threads here allready on this subject....

I have found on ebay that 2mm semi spherical beads for girls nail art are unbeatable value.

From polybagstore on E-Bay Uk these can be bought for £1.99 / 1000!!

The beads themselves are 2mm diameter, 1mm high and exteremly uniform..... no cutting or anykind of work involved..... just glued straight on......

I hope this can me helpful to someone!

these are indeed quite nice variants to the ongoing struggle to rivet for good...

what I would like to know, how did you apply these? with knife picked up and then set in place? or how?

and is that a crassus transport I see there?

Hi Vik!

Yes indeed.. little blob of superglue on my cutting mat..... then using my scalpol... pick up each piece and then ligtly dab in the superglue and apply. Really easy and quick..... took me not time at all to rivet up the whole Crassus hull!

And yes... that is my scratchbuilt Crassus i am currently working on..... have a peek if you want to over on my P&M Blog.... link should be below....

Thanks for looking in mate!

2mm are daaaamn big rivets though. It looks good on a superheavy, crassus, battlefortress or stompa, but if you want scratchbuild body armour or smaller vehicles, I think 2mm is a bit on the large side. Nice find though.

I actually use 2mm holepunched rivets made from either plastic or cardboard all of the time...and it suited me just fine. recently I got me a smaller holepunch that makes 1.5 mm ones...that is probably the smallest size one could make with that method....

and magos... yup, I am currently mostly a lurker but I will get to it

I totally agree mate! Vehicles i think are fine and i have even put them onto a Rhino and IMHO they were great!

For me they are perfect as i only have a small collection of vehicles anyway.... but thanks for the input!

I was the same... i had a leather punch tool i was using that went down to about 4mm..... which is good for some things but not ideal...... then found these and for the price i couldnt argue! I will have a look and see if there are any smaller..... even a 1mm would be great.

Cheers & Thanks for looking in guys!

Just in case anyone is wondering about even smaller beads, I ordered up some of these in 1 and 2mm sizes and enquired if a .5mm size was available but apparently 1mm is the smallest they do; after that it was glitter dust or some such thing.

Haha... yes i would think anything under 0.5mm would be pretty unworkable wouldnt it?! I am looking forward to the 1mm..... the 2mm are really easy to use and a decent size not to be too much of a pain in the butt!

Yes indeed..... a great group effort and i have to admit some possitive feedback!

And like was mentioned earlier.... there is a very confused shop owner out there wondering why bearded modelers are suddenly getting into nail art!

you can also look out for gemstones, they're bevelled at the edges like a cut stone or, conveniently, a hammered rivet. just don't get the non-coloured ones, they make it really hard to see which way up they are!
