There is a website out there, devoted to the Ork player called DA WAAAGH!!! (www.the-waaagh.com)

They started having some kind of problems right before the beginning of the new year and well into the year. Now, I see, you can't even access the site anymore.

I see a lot of names on here, that I would also see over there, and I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on with that website.

There used to be a BFG website called 'Port Maw' that was ran by us, the gamers. It was a fantastic place to trade ideas with like minded players. That site is now gone. It's always a big loss when gamer sites for gamers by gamers shut down. Sharing our ideas and knowledge is part of what makes these games fantastic.

So, if anyone knows the fate of DA WAAAGH!!!...Ork players would be most appreciative if you would share that info.

Thanks everyone.
P.S. This is one of those sites that makes gaming so fantastic. Just wanted to give Dakka Dakka its props!!!!

Not really the place to ask this... better off done in discussions rather than N&R but that said

From what I remember they and the Bolter & Chainsword forum were both running off a server that failed ,

there was some sort of fundraising drive to get a new one which seemed to succeed in buying the components to make one up but it had to be put together, and then as much as could be salvaged from the old forums ported over

this all coincided with work issues (and I vaguely remember heath issues) for some of the folk who ran things and I don't think it ever got up and running again (or if it did not for long)

I think there are a few refugees over on Warseer http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?390802-What-Happened-to-Da-Waaagh

I get IPS database driver errors for the forums.
The other links seem to work.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

As I recall, it went down late last year, but came back up about a month after I noticed.

It's been up recently, until weeks ago when I first got a general browser error.

A few days after that, the error was replaced with a message that they were rebuilding/redesigning the site/forum and would return soon.

Now, the forum's general page populates for me, but any attempt to access a section results in the IPS driver error you mention.

Not sure if the "redesigning" message was simply detritus from the first crash last year, though.

I ponied up for their new servers last year, then asked if we could finally become members - no response whatsoever.

Orks are such ungrateful entities.

Basically, what everybody else said.

Even when the forum is "up", I can't access subforums, or if I do, I can't load the topics, or a myriad of other things. That's been the state of things for months.

Personally, I'm not bothering anymore - in my opinion it's a goner, everything that looks like activity is just sporadic twitches of a dying body.

Too bad, in its heydays (which were looong before the big crash last year) it was one of the greatest hobby places on the web.

That it was. Many a great conversions were seen, many ideas shared.

After a long break they were up and running last week. Can't be good for a forum to keep coming back just to die again. Its a shame they had some good work.

Although not very active there is some great work on http://z11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_Progress/index.php?showforum=97

Should help you get your green fix.

"Up and running" is a bit of a misnomer, I think; ever since the server crash last year, people have been unable to post new topics at all. Any replies and activity that's been happening has been on old threads, as people repurpose them to check on forum status and whatnot.

I'm really hoping it comes back, but at this point... who knows.

Welcome to Fantasy 40k

If you think your important, in the great scheme of things. Do the water test.

Put your hands in a bucket of warm water,
then pull them out fast. The size of the hole shows how important you are.
I think we should roll some dice, to see if we should roll some dice, To decide if all this dice rolling is good for the game.
