Looking for feedback on my 1850 O’vesa/Mini F.bomb list for an upcoming tournament in May. I still need to playtest it and I'm still trying to decide whether Taudar would be a better option (for the fast scoring jet bikes and tough Wraithknight). I'll attempt to explain each units purpose breifly within the list,

1850

Farsight Enclave Primary

HQ
Farsight – 165
O’vesa & 2 shield drones – 305
Mark’O’Commander: 2x Missile Pods, Talisman, Target Lock, Drone Controller, 2x Marker Drones - 177

Elites
Riptide: HBC, ECPA, TL SMS, Target Lock, EWO – 220 (I think you can take ECPA here too as Ovesas one doesnt count towards the limit)

Troops
3x Crisis suits: 2x Plasma Rifles per suit, 3x Shield Drones, Bonded – 195 (deep strike)
2x Crisis Suits: 2x Fusion Blasters per suit, 3x Shield Drones, Bonded – 142 (Farsight goes here for precision deep strike tank hunting unit supported by marker lights)
1x Crisis: 2x Missile Pod, Bonded – 53 (Back field JSJ objective holder)

Fast Attack
4x Marker Drones – 56 (Joins Mark’O)

Heavy Support
1x Broadside: HYMP, SMS, EWO, Bonded – 71
1x Broadside: HYMP, SMS, EWO, Bonded – 71

Tau Empire Allies

HQ
Buffmander: C&C node, MSSS, PEN Chip, Shield Gen, VRT, Iridium Armour – 190 (joins ovesa star)

Troops
10x Kroot: Sniper Rounds – 70 (infiltrate forward to block scouts/ cap forward objectives or stay in reserve)

Heavy Support
Skyray: SMS, Disruption pod, sensor spines - 135 (For Sky fire and marker support)

Are you sure? my epub version states that wargear on the 8 do not count towards the signiture systems rule.

I'll have to check again when im home unless there has been an update?

Spoke to a buddy and I think you might be right. The ovessa star doesnt look as attractive anymore. Epca on a iontide seems like such a waste...

-Move the Talisman to your HBC riptide. This will protect your riptides since one if their biggest threats is JotWW

- give your skyray BSF

-With farsight attached to the O'vesa star, he gives them I5 when using hit and run. The last thing you want with O'vesa star us to have it locked in combat

-make your skyray a farsight enclave HVY support and put a Missile side into you Tau HVY so your not paying for bonding knife. ( this gets you 1 point for a BSF on your skyray)

- dropping the shield drones from your suits will get more suits( aka more troops)

-your HBC riptide needs drones in order for ICs to attach to it. Given that these drones are T6, it helps keep your majority toughness incase you decide to attach your ICs to you 3 man suit squad mid game( in order to make the squad scoring...situational but still an option

You don't have a clue what you're on about do you? You're wrong, the FE supplement clearly says you are wrong, yet here you are - giving advice you have absolutely no idea is correct - as fact.

To the op - as I think you've already seen you can take two ecpa this way. I think the exact words you're looking for are at the start oof the eight's entry in the supplement. The bit that also says you can't change their wargear

Hehehe. When you go online and get all aggressive and stuff, you better know what you're talking about. Under "Farsight's Command Team" it states that "the Signature Systems rule above does not apply to them" (p. 50, emphasis mine). And that rule (under Signature Systems, p. 50) refers to characters in the army not being able to take the signature systems from the Tau Empire codex, only the ones from the supplement. On p. 51 it states you can only have one of each of the signature systems in your army. Nothing under "Farsight's Command Team" allows you to disregard that.

Upon further research I am changing my view on this to 'in question' there are discrepancies between versions of the book. For example anyone with the ePub version does actually have it saying signature systems are limited to one per army - then you read the rule saying that that doesn't apply.

It's open to interpretation, has caused more pages of discussion then I care to read and it normally culminates in xyz tournament ran it like this - which carries as much water for me as a colander.

I digress. Check tournament ruling before you use it. Simple way to go about it I think.

Ps. I'd use the word 'educational' rather than aggressive

Incorrect. You can attach if it has 0 drones.

ECPA is one per army. The signature rules not applying is due to the fact that some members of the 8 have sig systems from the Tau codex, hence the rule not applying to them. If you take Ovesa then you cannot put the ECPA on a regular riptide.
