So, I haven't really played Infinity for a while, and I'd only ever played it a few times, but I was interested in getting back into it. I know that "it's not the list" and all, but I was hoping for some advice. A) does this list cover all the bases, and B) any tips/tricks for someone not too familiar with the game/these units.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. I really just want to get a discussion going to help get me thinking in 'infinity' terms.

I am by no means an expert on critiquing a list but here are my thought.

You are going to be very order starved, I mean you can link the Yaos, but that exposes them template weapons which could wipe half your order pool in one shoot.

Also your Soggy and Raicho are very exposed to some info war.


I will say it is hard with any of the Combined forces to come up with a list in 300 points since are stuff is so costly.

I will caveat that if your just playing for some fun then the list should give someone fits with the amount of hurt it will throw down range just watch out for the sneaky players.

Now I haven't even versed CA before, but I'm sure everyone's played around on the army generator so I'll just talk from a generic POV. Plus it'll help get things moving.

I agree with Messiah about vulnerability to hacking, but looking through MAFs options, between vanguards and zerats there's nothing impressive in the hacking department. So it doesn't seem worthwhile to bother with it as it'd be pretty easy to blow through them if anyone had a particular desire to offensive hack (plus morats seem kinda expensive to me points-wise). A spec-ops hacker could work but I'll leave that to someone else.

I dont really feel the vulnerability in the link. MSV2 and SSLvl2 backed up by combis and panzers isnt an easy thing to get through. The main problem I see is that taking both a Yaogat link and the HI+TAG doesnt seem to feasible in 300pts as they're both too expensive. I'd probably look at taking a cheaper link and just take one Yaogat: the multi-sniper rifle loadout. With MSV2 its similar to an intruder (minus camo) but despite that I think you could run them in the same fashion effectively. Being able to ignore virtually all modifiers makes the MSR intruder a pretty freaky ARO unit and I can't see why it wont work for the Yaogat.

I've often heard praise Daturazi, and the 14pt CR&smoke looks pretty solid to me. The smoke can work shenanigans with the Yaogats MSV2 plus they're cheap as chips (Cant shoot for a toss but who cares with a direct template).

Lastly I'd make the Sogarat the lieutenant. He'll want all the orders he can get and its the easiest way to get a free one. Plus with the morat rule LOL isn't that much of a problem, you're paying for it on every guy so why not put it to use?

I'll echo the above. Taking a Yaogat link, Sogorat and Raicho seems a bit much in one list. They're all potentially order hungry units, and the Yaogat link doesn't make up for only having 7 orders in a list that order hungry.

Good points all. For minimum changes, I could swap the Sogorat (though I do love the model...) and the rod for 4 or 5 Daturazi or regular Morats. That would give me 9 or 10 orders. Or dropping the yaogats down to morats...hmm...I'll play around with that.

I did want to say that the main reason that I made one of the Yaos my lt was to help obscure who he is. It's pretty obvious who the lt is when the Raicho and Sog are taking all the actions. I'm not sure how much that really matters, but him being vulnerable to hacking also seems to make that worse.

That looks a lot more workable. However, I'd point out that if you attempt to bring that to any sort of objective game other than YAMS, you won't be accomplishing much of anything since you have zero specialists. It's hard to put many in the list though, since you only have Forward Observers and Hackers for Vanguard, and you don't have the SWC for a hacker.

Personally I'd make room for a hacker, either Zerat or Vanguard. Not for actively offensive hacking, but it's nice to have that face to face roll when someone tries (and they will) to hack your TAG. They might not be particularly good, but if you're packing a TAG, it's nice to have some defense besides trusting in the BTS modifier.

Also, Morat links: not so awesome if there isn't a single beefier weapon in to really utilize the link bonuses much.

I'm thinking soggie, raicho and any 5-man link is just not really going to work for MAF at 300pts...

I should probably also mention that I'm trying to avoid having to buy too many more models. So it's a little tough trying to jigger things around to make that work. Not having a hacker was definitely an oversight (though the BTS is very helpful).
