Just want to pick the community's mind on this. The monsternomicon was revealed and in it they mention the Dracodile as a huge based model. While it is essentially a giant crocodile, could it possibly become the gargantuan for Gatormen?

That would be fantastic. Imagine that model...like an archangel but a crocodile!

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I was under the impression that PP said Minions wouldn't be getting Gargantuans? I think this was said at L&L or TempleCon around the release of the Gargantuans book.

It was said they wouldn't be getting gargantuans for the Gargantuans book, and for the exigence book they're getting battle engines. It definitely hasn't been definitively stated that they're not getting them at all.

And the Dracodile would make an amazingly cool model, though it does make me wonder what an eventual pig gargantuan (should they ever get one) would look like...

If it does get released as a Garg, and with the Mountain King being an indiciation, it would be one of the coolest looking models in the whole range. If it brought POW 20+ to the table, it might actually be the warbeast that Blindwater need. Blindwater's animi would also lend themselves really well to a Gargantuan (Spiny Growth, Ornery) and I can see a Gargantuan under Rask being just gross.

As for a Farrow Garg? A giant Pig would be pretty cool, but I think some sort of Minotaur-esque creature would make a little more sense.

Hey now, Rask is a thing ya know

Besides which, the new battle engine rumours for them actually sound fairly decent.

I'm not sure I'd call this a reveal, the Dracodile has been around in the lore/RPG dating waaay back. I'm not sure it means much. I feel like they've been doing a lot of huge based stuff and are probably going to want to start holding back so they can make a big deal with a 2nd push at a later date.

I have to say that if the gators do get this, it'll push me over the edge on which Hordes faction I'd want to start.

Just because its been in the Lore doesn't mean it isn't a big reveal.

Giants are in the lore, but them revealing stats for one(for the RPG or the regular game) would be a big deal.

This is a reveal of something which would make 100% total sense as a minion Garg. Not only is it a big croc, but it is confirmed as being the proper size. There are many big creatures which still might not be big enough to be a Garg.

The phrasing of calling it a huge based creature was an eye raiser for me.

The RPG also uses bases and base sizes.

As someone who plays both games there are things that carry over and things that don't. I don't see anything that would indicate the RPG release would automatically become a TT release. But PP always has ideas bouncing around so you never know what they might do. And obviously anything that is part of their world can appear in either game.

We had stats for the Dracodile in the RPG for ages as well. This is just bringing it in-line with the new RPG edition. I'll admit the new RPG runs on the same engine as the Wargame more/less in contrast to it's old d20 stats. That said I'm not sure RPG is the best place to be back-porting things from. Like you can plop something from the Wargame into the RPG and it's going to be a neat little distraction. Anything tuned to challenge high-level characters in the RPG would be in the 30pt++ range in the TT.

Seriously, veteran tier and over RPG characters seriously give feat-turn warcasters a run for their money in terms of power level.

Yeah, but thats ok.

Its not like they had a ton of design space for it.

It was either a Dracodile, a giant turtle, or a Kraken. Kraken already exists in Cryx and nobody wants a spd3 gargantuan. So that left giant Crocodile.

Mercs already have 2 colossal, don't see why their equivalent in Hordes isn't going to get something like it.

Ehhhh.

Mercs technically have 2 colossals, but they're not going to appear in the same list so its a bit of a moot point.

Can't the Galleon be taken by the journeyman? Could go with highborne with dwarf caster then if you really wanted...

You CAN have both in the same list, you just won't because it would be a poor choice to make.

Aside from running a 4 Colossal list "because you can" you won't see it.

If it has SPD3, then just give it Assault, and charge instead .
