Thanks guys!

The new bikes look great, although the only real complaint I have (and it's only a little one) is that the rear wheels are moulded as part of the model, they're not a separate piece like the SM bikes. Which is kind of a bummer when you're a conversion maniac...but as far as sexiness goes, they're also an AWESOME model. I can't wait to get more. AND PLASTIC POWER KLAWS!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!

That's what my ideas are here for! Stealing. Lots and lots of stealing.

Here I've decided to lay the entire ork army out and well! It's definitely what GW had in mind when they said HORDE! Stacks of models, and I dare not count them lest I spend the rest of my days in a crazy house.

I am going to have to add duckie to this eventually, and the new stompa I'm (thinking about) working on. So much stuff to do, so little time! Oh well, here's the pics for those who like eye candy:

And just to show you how crazy those Sisters Repentia REALLY are....

Looks awesome man! What colors did you use on those Mega Armored Orks? I'd like my Orks to have a darker, less colorful look to them and these are definitely the kind of look I'm after.

My Mega armoured orks are painted using the same metallic technique I used on the Iron Warriors army. Basically silver then weather the hell out of it. Then I use extra colours for the details, not the main areas.

Ok, well. I've been getting a bit bored and simultaneously overwhelmed with this army because I have been adding and adding and adding to it without getting much painted! And then I go and start doing something else! Damnit!!!!

So here's what's been happening the last couple months - work more on orks, start designing template bits for the walking baneblade, start painting some (boring as) praetorian guard, enter a painting competition (which is the only thing I've truly finished lately btw!), start a new stompa and begin a new regimen of speed technique training of about 2hrs a day for guitar. So as you could imagine I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed - lol.

ANYHOO! Here's some progress on this army I am sure you'll like to look at, first of all I'll show the pics of the deff koptas with buzzsaws that I've riveted, based and finished off:

And now, I've started work on a new stompa because someone really inspired me with one of theirs over on CMoN which I won't show a pic of here for the sake of space. But what has happened is after I got the basic design for the legs done (no extra gubbins yet) I looked at the iron duck chassis that I've put to the side for the moment and had a thought. Have a look at the pics, let me know what you think and whether you guys reckon it will work. I like. I hate. I like again. So I need some feedback to assist me.

Honestly, I'm of half a mind to build another stompa similar to the steam stompa I originally did, but a little taller and more in line with the proper ork stompa rules (proper guns and stuff). So to begin either one, I've at least got the legs done...

More pics, less talk:

Leg progress - I realise that middle bit is a bit weedy, and I intend to buff that up some...

And here we have the "Squighound" pattern stompa - or if you prefer - Da Big Mecha Squiggoth-bot Stompa.

Ooh, I like. It's got a Warhoundy-type feel. As if a Mek had seen one and gone, "Anything you can do I can do better!"

I like it too, and my thought was also that it looked like a (chubby) orky warhound

The squig connection is a good one to make, does look like one of those mean little guys.

Ok here's progress on the Squighound Titan. Maybe I should call it Mega-Muppet lol, looks kinda like it's outta the muppets or something...heheh

No rivets at this stage, I've got a little more work to do before rivets will be getting added to this one.

Here's the pics:

Broken down into it's parts:

And a close up of the leg - I'm very happy with how these have turned out:

looking good, I can relate to feeling overwhelmed. I have my Ork Army that I want to get done by the end of the Summer. However, I also have a Baneblade that needs some love, a Nid army that needs to be painted a bit more, and I have some DA in various stages of completion. Add to this eing engaged, and of course 18 hrs of undergrad finals. I suppose school will be the priority this week and next.

Waaagh!

Money in the bank! A bank full of money!

I like him a lot, looking great. The lil' buzzsaw arms I would have left off if it were my squighound, but I know you like you're war machine 'attachments' and extra choppa is never a bad thing

I've made some modifications to the stompa, made a more intimidating weapon. I'm going to make some more mods to the weapon, but I'll be adding a bit more of an arm to the weapon to make it more manouvreable. Here's some pictures:

Hehe that's ace, I love expression on the Squighound's face Those ARE big rokkits, what on earth did they start out life as?

Looking at the sheer number of models you have lined up to do, I feel ever-so-slightly ashamed that I haven't found the time to paint 3 measley squads of BAs...

The rokkits are chopped up fuselages of a few large scale plane models. I got them from a friends spares.

Anyone think the chainblade is too big? I'm going to trim the housing a bit when I add in the articulation of the arm, but I'm wondering if it's a bit large...

On another note, I think I'd love to see a gigantic iron gob on this fella. And big metallic horns too ^_^.

Now that's an integrated choppy weapon! I think with the cowling cut back some it'll look a bit smaller and fit better. On the rokkits, very nice though I would have gone with two, the third one takes away something from the squat squiggy look IMO.

"FRAGGLES! STAY AWAY FROM MY RADISHES!!"

Looks really cool, though I agree a bigger, more pronounced gob would really help the look.
I am not really feeling the choppa as yet... I sorta liked the little arms, but I think Salvage's idea of trimming it down a little will work too. I just envision the thing being less of a melee fighter, and more of a stand and dakka the hell out of the countryside sort of mech.

Ok more work done on the Squighound Stompa! I've boosted the jaw a bit more, looks better. Added some other details and lets not forget started on the rivets.

I'm going to cut the housing back on the chainblade further, I played around with photoshop and it looks better with less housing over the top.

Pics:

And some grot peekin holes!

Oh, and those boxes in the background are my bits boxes - in case you were wondering. About half of them...

Ok guys, here's the stompa undercoated and pretty much finished ready for painting. I'll start the painting fairly soon, I have a few other jobs to tidy up around the modelling ridges for the moment so we'll see how things go.

Pics for now:

I went to start painting the Stompa today but I am sooooo sick of trying to paint over that silver undercoat so I'll give it another coat of flat black and then that will work much better. So what if I have to paint the dang thing all silver again, it won't tick me off so much. Here's a pic of what I started painting today:

Just thought I'd post a link here to a new modelling mag site. The magazine is excellent quality. Only problem is - it's in spanish! But the eye candy is AWESOME! The front cover has a pic of a model on it that I first thought was a painting. It wasn't until I saw the article within that I realised it WASN'T! wow...

Plus, for those of you who remember, my Ork Steam Stompa has an article in there too. But that's not why I'm posting this, this mag is excellent! I just wish it were in english....

http://www.euromodelismo.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=1_17&products_id=459

The name of the magazine is Fantasy Dimension over on Euromodelismo.com where they have a few other mags they publish. If only White Dwarf was this good! But then again...I am mainly in it for the modelling...
