Yup sorry about that, it is a minor cache bug that I can usually catch and reset quickly, but it slipped through and I was not around to hit the reset button. I am still trying to track down the source of the bug so thanks for letting me know.

Maybe you got it, but things are happy again in the modeling forum. Thanks Lego!

I'm getting ads again. They persist through logout/login.

*edit: They also persist through clearing cookies.*

Whereabouts? Just on the top right of every page? On the lower left hand side of articles section too? Once you are logged in on the forums, if you go to the dakka home page (by clicking the dakka logo), are you still logged in (there should be a logout link under the logo)? I had to restart the server a couple of times today to test a bug and if you were logged in at the time it might have done funny things with your settings. Not using dakka (or having any dakka windows open) for 30 minutes might reset any glitches that could have occurred. Sorry about the glitch but dont worry, we have not changed any policies and DCMs can still block out all ads (minor glitches aside!).

Just the top-right (in the banner). No additional ads appear the articles section. I remain logged in when navigating to/from the home page.

What happens if you go direct to this URL:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/core/ad.jsp

If an advert displays, press CTRL-refresh (or shift-refresh) to forcibly refresh your browser and proxy cache. Does that stop them from displaying for you?

Nope, I still get a rotating collection of ads.

*edit: It applies across browsers, too - both Opera and Firefox exhibit this behavior (and I've never used this installation of Firefox to browse Dakka before, so I had zero cookies).

hmm ok sorry about that. I'll look into it as a high priority bug. Thanks for helping to debug the symptoms.

It doesn't especially bother me (I support Dakka regardless, and given the permanent white rectangle that's usually there, I'm used to ignoring that space), but I definitely thought you should know.
