While getting dressed the other day I remembered another horror story. I was trying to pin my flying hive tyrant's wings on (using BIG pins mind you) and I dropped my dremel. As the dremel is falling through the air my brain remembers that bits break when they hit the ground, this bit cost $1, and I didn't want to replace that bit so I stuck my bare feet below the RUNNING dremel. Not a good idea. Normally dremels fall sideways or bottom first due to the weight of the battery pack, this dremel went straight down like a lawn dart and hit my right big toe. Since the dremel was still running at the time the bit spun and started going into my to till it hit the bone. I pulled the still running dremel out of my toe, turned it off, pulled the skin out of the drill bit and then proceded to run to the bathroom to get a bandaid. For the next month it hurt to walk and I couldn't flex my toe.

It's simple enough to edit this article
.
Let's say you cut yourself. First you'd find the Blades
section of the article and find the [Edit ] link to the right of the Blades section.
What if your section isn't represented?
Then find the [Edit] button for the article.
Sub-sections are separated by ==section name==
Just type the section name between double equal signs
and the wiki will generate the section for you. Use the
quote method mentioned above to include your experience
and save your changes.

I pass out ocassionaly for several minutes. (doctors haven't yet discerned why, I think its the fumes) and my forehead managed to land squarely on the unit of Night Goblin spearmen I had been assembling from the Battle for Skull pass set....
Needless to say those gobbos are solid little buggers....

In the spirit of the great shenanigans incorporated in this story, I'm going to let forth my biggest secret ever in regards to hobby accidents.
I was sitting at my card table in my room, using the rotary attachment for my Dremel tool, cleaning the parts for a few Sabre Gun Platforms.
Phone rings, I jump as it's on vibrate in my pocket.
Dremel falls, lands on lap.
Dremel proceeds to sand my entire pelvic region.
That was NOT a fun day.

I've done all the standard crap. Held a container of superglue up to my ear to listen if it was open when I squeezed it. Reflexively tried to wipe gob of glue out of the inner ear when it inevitably hit, and glue hand to ear. Worst part was I had to wash half my face in acetone. That got in my eyes. Of course.
Dremel with a drill bit, pinning. Drilled through a piece, and forefinger.
Glued finger to nose. I got that damn magic nose goblin out, though! And about 3 pounds of nose hair as well, stuck to my finger. Holy MACKEREL.
Decided that I had so many gaunts to put together that I needed some liquid courage. Some became a lot. A knife became embdded in my forarm. One trip to the ER later, I'm slurring to a counselor that I realize life is a great gift, truly.

those are the kind of wounds that superglue was created to fix. Just put a thin line over the cut and you are ready to get back to work. sure it will sting, but it will seal that wound better than stiches and you don't even need a needle.
speaking of super glue, I had been working on a multi-part heavy metal model and had decided that I was tired of glueing my fingers together trying to hold the arms and legs together while it dried. so I put a bit more superglue on the models and grabbed my "zip kicker" super glue accelerator. I shot the part and thought, cool, now I am done. Then I noticed that my fingers and thumb (that also had superglue on them) get a bit warm, then hot, then ... well suffice to say, I blistered the fingers that had superglue on them and in the process threw themodel (which I had just glued) on the floor and it broke. Needless to say, I am very careful now, not to get the glue on my fingers anymore. ..

Except that superglue is a toxic material in large quantities... (and I think its also been linked to birth defects in California)
And the opposite of pride is humility.

Which is probably why he didn't recommend it for sealing you up after Open-heart Surgery, just a cut on the finger.
PS-I think the 'Birth Defects' you mentioned could be caused by more than just Superglue.

I've cut myself with a craft knife so many times and I know better. Once I stabbed myself in the end of the thumb all the way to the hilt of the Exacto knife.
One night I was building 4 Rhinos. I had a Rhino, a Razorback, and two Predators. I put the hulls together first. I wear glasses and it was getting late, so my work got closer and closer to my fatigued eyes until I got to the point where the fumes were making my eyelashes glue together, they sounded like velcro when I opened my eyes and they started burning and tearing up. I swear I had a layer of crazy glue on my eyeballs..
Another night, I had spilled an excess of crazy glue on my fingers. I rub my fingers together quickly so it dries faster than it can bond and then I gnaw it off my fingers at my leisure. I guess some of it wasn't cured, I had an itch on my lip, so I scratched it. My finger got bonded to my lip. It only bled a little bit.

So one night a friend of mine is working on his land raider and the super glue gums up and won't come out of the bottle. So, of course, he just squeezes harder...and harder...and harder till the jam clears. He managed to cover a good chunk of his left hand with super glue. Not only did this manage to glue the land raider to his hand, but it managed to superglue his wedding ring to his hand. The kicker to all of this is that he didn't have (or really know about) acetone at the time. So after washing everything off to no avail, he broke out the exacto to surgicaly remove the land raider and the ring. It wasn't pretty, although it apparently was pretty bloody.

When I first came back in the hobby early last year, I cut myself within about 4 minutes of working on my first model. I was holding the piece in my hand while cutting towards my hand, it slipped and tried (unsuccessfully) to remove the tip of my middle finger. My roommate had a liquid bandage kit, so we had me fixed up in about 5 minutes. An hour later I was back to cutting and have not cut myself since (I learned to be extra careful cutting stuff).
Many, many years ago, I had most of my bookshelves collapse. They had been installed about 15 years before to hold stuffed animals and such. The weight of too many RPG books pulled them down after a few years of abuse. Thankfully, I had all my minis on the top shelf against my parents wishes because it DID NOT fall down with the rest of them (they thought it made more sense to have them on the bottom shelf where they could be seen). Sadly, I lost them all to having my storage space being canceled without my knowledge.
OT but in the same vein: I used to collect weapons. I bought a sword that had a cracked sheath. I handed it to my mother with strict instructions to not let my brother have the sword while I did something really quick in the kitchen. About 6 seconds later, I hear a very loud and blood chilling scream. My brother had taken the sword, pulled it out and put it back in a rapid fashion, and therefore sliced the webbing between thumb and index finger, cutting it almost completely in two and exposing some bone. He had to get stitches.

My work recently received the new GW paint rack. Well the labels (little marquees that show which paint is in which row) are exreemly hard to get in so I'm pushing and pulling the little things every which way and finally my hand slipped, and skimmed down the marquee holder. I noticed a little pain and took a look at it, I had cut the side my middle finder from the joint all the way up to the tip. Bled like crazy, but some super glue patched it up. It wasn't until the next day that I saw I had tons of smaller cuts on other parts of my hands. Apparently I'd been cutting myself all night on the stupid thing. Moral of the story: Be careful when installing the marquees on the new GW paint rack.

An interesting note about superglue - the U.S. government actually experimented with using superglue to seal wounds and stop bleeding during the Vietnam War.

An interesting note, Bruce Banner (Ed Norton) uses superglue to seal a cut in the new Hulk movie.
