Thanks for the kindness. I am writing up some fluff for it very slowly but the jist of it is that there was a renegade guard army that was swept up in a crusade and has slowly been replacing it's loses through PoWs and turncoats on invaded planets.

devilkin wrote:Can't wait to see how it pans out. I've been wanting to make a tunderfire cannon in that artilliery gun carriage style like the 18 pounder you have there.

A friend of mine has been thinking about doing the same but it's a shame it's metal. The FW Thudd gun looks a lot better.

Fair enough lol

I would guess he did. And a little more. And you can keep your Derek!

UPDATE!!

Not a very sizeable one as I've been running from one project to another. I'm not one to stick to something and stay there.

Here be a sergeant for one of my squads. He's still WiP as the weathering isn't complete.

Plasma gunner. Still WiP.

Decided to do something with my horde of metal guardsmen. I had to smother them in paint stripper and use my multi-tool's buffer to remove the layers of paint that was encrusted on it. Still WiP

Started to weather the Quad.

Thought I'd take a better picture of the Chimera. Still WiP.

Also started to weather my Heretic Pattern Leman Russ.

Factory coated an old Chimera

Found this and I'm planning on turning it into a Griffon Mortar AFV

Also found this and broke down into tears. Managed to take away some of the crap but need to drown it in paint strip. Going to pick up a 1/72 AS90 as the turret works so well on the Russ chassis

This is a Chimera Half-Track project I started last night. Still WiP lol

I have also played around with the new Leman Russ kit. It's awful. It's slightly smaller than the old Russ and just feels cheap. It didn't even come with a tank accessory sprue. I'm never going to buy one of them. The Hellhound is slightly better but I only want it for the hull and turret. Gonna change the cannon using a predator one and use the old chimera tracks. They're just not very good kits at all.

I'm loving your horde of steel fury. It looks incredible so far.

I'm very very very looking forward to the halftrack, I love those things and I've wanted to make one for ages.

I guess it will be something like an Sd.Kfz 251? Or an M3? Methinks the Sd.Kfz will look a lot better with the chimera top half.

Looking forward to whatever you've got in store, you're inspiring me, I've got out the crazy mess of my paintstation again, maybe I'll be putting some stuff up soon

Many thanks. Like I said earlier in the blog, I cannot take full credit for the walking Russ. I ordered that from eBay pre-built from a gentleman from Canada. It's the only thing I have that I haven't made. It's a pain in the ass as I can't seem to do it any justice.

I saw posted on some forum or another a WHFB Hellcannon, with a suggestion that it could be mounted on a chimera (with extensive conversion) as a Colossus or Griffon.

Might be a little too chaosy for your build tho!

Love the work.

Thanks for the tip, I had a look on eBay for one but decided against it. I have plans on using the bottom half of the stumpy baneblade barrel as my mortar.

UPDATE!!

Like I said before, I couldn't get much done over the last week as I have been working at both a livery yard and with my job at the library. I do have some pictures to treat you with but sadly they are all WiPs.

Gangsta Lean!

I'm making use of my box of metal guardsmen I have. Have to gs gasmasks onto them

Using this as part of my Enforcer squad. I just love the model so much!

This is to be my Standard Bearer in my command squad. Just waiting on the banner to turn up. Still unsure as to what colour to do the drum

A mortar team. The only thing completed on this is the spotter. The rest is still being painted. The wire will be trimmed and glued after painting. Just placed it on here to gauge effect

A missile launcher loader I've started to repaint

Yes, I know he's missing a foot but I left it at my girlfriend's house.

This is the closest thing I've done in the last week that comes close to being finished. He needs some tidying up and some weathering.

MY EYES!! THEY BURN!!!!! This is the old Rhino I've started making into a Griffon. As you can see I have started to base it Panzergrau but done very little else

I've decided that my main lists will come from the Seige of the Vraks rules and after some careful browsing I thought it would be awesome to have a squad of Alpha Legion amoung my rank and file. I knew I had some Space Marine and Chaos Space Marine bits so I went on a hunt in my bitz-pit to find enough for five marines. And this is what I ended up finding...

...a whole heap of Marines! The motherload! These were given to me many years ago by a friend who moved country so I just need to strip them and repaint them. I found it amusing that I managed to find more Marines in my bitz box than what most people have in their entire army

And last night, I started to paint one.

Still very WiP. I have only done a base of Midnight Blue and a top layer of Regal Blue. Still not done any green washing yet.

Speaking of washing I have to put some on in a minute.

ChaosBubbles, my apparent phantom of a friend who keeps forgetting to check his Dakka, has decided he doesn't want his Rhinos and Land Raider. He's offered me the Land Raider but I'm trying to convince him to use his Rhinos are Chimera or Griffons. I'm still trying to decide what to do with my spare Land Raider, leave alone what to do with another one!!

I think I'll pass on this obviously very generous suggestion

I also forgot to mention that I am looking into starting a renegade psyker squad (with an additional advisor in my HQ). I need ideas as I don't think I will be using any of the minis available.

I have started something very brave, though. I have started a custom sculpt for a psyker. I have very limited experience with greenstuff so this is pretty much me jumping in the deep end. I have made a basic wireframe out of paperclips for this. The general idea behind this mini is that it is a small boy with a metal plate fused to his mouth. He is bald and in tattered clothing. In his left hand will be the one thing that stops him from completely going insane; his teddy. In his right hand will be a ball of electrical charge building up.

I have really enjoyed reading this blog. Loving the paint schemes on the tanks, and that several of the troopers are holding mp40s. Soon you will be able to unleash the Traitor Guard Blitzkrieg!

But the tanks will be getting lots of camo netting right? I don't know why but in my mind it seems to fit.

Forgive my ignorance, but is that custom rules or is it really in the codex? Also I sympathize with your tendency to skip between projects, I do the same thing.
