Just wanted to post a link for Beasts of War's latest vid in which they give a shout out to the new challenge! A great little break down of happenings for the week as well!

++++++++++++

I'm deep into base colors right now. Regretting my lack of airbrush, but I'm making due.

A few hiccups right now, but I'm taking a break from the annoying parts and moving to doing something different as I think things over. So some paint has been thrown on a few of the more 'minor' things.

How goes your progress this weekend? Anyone have any good armor/weathering links for the weekend?

I've just got a good little 'inspiration' article that's got a little bit of info on how he painted the piece. Check it out here.

I was going to spray on some prime but it started snowing
Hopefully there will be better conditions tommorow.

I've considered throwing black cats and stuff at my tanks for weathering I think they can take it anyone ever try this?

As previously stated, "fixed" my underside (just don't look underneath) and am spending a lot of time preparing the model for multi-layer primer and effects. I have never gotten this complicated on a model before and am finding the whole process quite exhilarating. Still looking at beginning to lay primer around Wednesday or Thursday morning. I, also, am lamenting not having an air gun but I'll make due as well. Las Vegas sometimes gets windy this time of year (and is supposed to be this week) I just hope it doesn't delay my primering but at least temperature is never an issue this time of year.

I don't have any links, sorry. I just have a couple of old books for reference/ideas and of course links provided on Dakka.

Mine is mostly finished.

I had a head start because I had a model built and primed when the challenge started, so I just needed to start painting.

I just need to finish weathering the wheels, add a few minor details (flag, etc.) varnish, and take the pictures.

it doesn't disclose the model you are working on ( example: 'I'm working on a Leman Russ, how should I go about this...').

See ?

I ran into a snag with mine as well, luckily it is an underside issue so it won't be visible.

Take that break and relax.

Tonight I might get back into my model... I still have the giant mulligan (mixing brush that fell on my model full of paint) to fix.

I guess I had a head start too, mine was already primed before we started, and I had been converting it over the last several months. My primer was on a little too thick and I should have dealt with it immediately... now its too late oh well hehe.

Good luck gents...

My not-so FLG/HS is having a model contest on the 24th. I should be done by then. Might as well throw my hat into two rings!

Uh-oh. I'm gonna be starting way behind the rest of you guys. I ordered my kit from bitkingdom the day after the contest was announced. I'm probably gonna get the kit with about two weeks left to the competition. It'll be a fair amount of speed-painting to be sure!

And Rico, get that model name off your post before the inquisition blasts you!

I still haven't even finished putting my entry together yet, let alone hit it with some paint!

Still pretty hopeful I'll be done in time though! (Crosses fingers!)

A bit of an update to the contest:

The prize package, while still worth $50, will be supplied by AwesomePaintjob.com instead of chosen by the winner. This comes after some unforeseen issues popped up, and as such they've had to remove their online store.

If anyone was hoping to get any of the online shop products, you'll have to contact them directly via email.

I love Mathieu Fontaine's work... anyway, here is a nice tutorial from him that might help here:

Thanks GD! On that note, you can choose what you want as I have a lot in stock. So if the winner wants $50 of black pigment, that's fine.

Gunzhard, thanks for the awesome link! I check Mathieu's stuff out constantly but somehow, I had missed that little gem! He's also a regular poster over in his P&M Blog here on Dakka now.

Les, Sounds like a great compromise to a compromised situation ^_-.

Well... Looks like I done screwed this model up real good haha. The weathering got a little out of hand. I really should have practiced first on a different model.

Best of luck folks!

Good news everybody! My model came in on Friday so I've got all week to put it together! This is the part where I pray that I get at least a couple WIP shots in so I don't shoot myself in the foot. This is a good time frame, one week to model/assemble, two weeks to paint, and two days to put the photos together! I'm officially in this people... I look forward to seeing the other entries!
