Correct me if i'm wrong but the Hornet very closely ressembles the flying Custodian craft from the Horus Heresy art book, anyone else think so??

Haven't posted any updates for my super heavy tank, working on my blue angels and ive done some work on my superheavy tank. The turret is complete and the hull has some more work done to it.

WTF! That thing is a beast. I think the only way to make it cooler would be to have in transform into a titan optimus style.

The turret looks awesome which kit did you use to construct it?

Thor's Hammer looks cool.

Pity it can't be be called Hellhammer, or banehammer, or all the other hammer names.

I do have a suggestion for name though:

Imperator.

The Thor... I can't begin to describe how much I love that thing. The thing that makes it so awesome is the turret. Just the sleek look to it (relatively speaking) is so far above the boxy look of IG tanks. Without it (or with a baneblade-like turret even) it just wouldn't be quite the same (though it would still be pretty cool.)

The Hornets were, IMHO, were the worst of the lot (again, relatively speaking). I just couldn't see past the obviousness of the Rhino/Razorback. The Pegasus is very nice. If I had the time, money, and materials (not to mention the skills) to do one of those, it would definitely be my SR.

The Raven Shark is pretty cool, though it looks a little off to me. I suppose it's the contrast between the super-sleek front and the rather fat, squared back. Just doesn't scream SM to me.

I like the APC a lot. I would have never caught the Aliens thing, but then again I suppose I'm not a devout fan. I'm just wondering what the large mortar-like barrel is in the middle. (Demolisher, maybe?)

It is a beast!

Armament:

Volcano Cannon
2 T-L Heavy Bolters (forward facing)

2 Lascannon sponsons
1 T-L Assault Cannon (foward facing)
4 HB Sponsons (2 fixed rear facing, 2 sponsons)
1 Multi-Melta
1 HK Missile

That means (facing forward) it can shoot:
1 Volcano round 72"
5 Lascannon shots (3 twin linked) 48"
4 Assault Cannon shots 24" (twin-linked)
6 HB Shots 36" (twin-linked)
1 HK missile (unlimited range)
1 Multi-Melta shot 24"

And from the rear:
12 HB shots 36" (6 t-l)
1 Multi-Melta shot 24"
2 lascannon shots 48"

Two negative points (they're only pedantic, so you're free to ignore them).

1) The Thor is awesome, but it NEEDS bigger tracks. A tank that big requires wider tracks to move. There is a way of figuring out the width based on the length. But if you look at regular tanks, about 1/4 of the width is tracks. the bigger a tank gets, the more than fraction increases. The Tiger II had really wide tracks, and the Landcreuzer (if it was real) would have needed to to have 75% it's width to be tracks to move.

2) Can that multimelta actually shoot further than the length of the tank? LOL - I imagine it's only really useful for firing sideways!

Very impressive body of work shaft. That is one behemoth of a tank! Loved your flyers too!

Wow there is a lot of really cool conversions and home made vehicles in your thread. I applaud you for making everything look so streamlined. I make a lot of large ork conversions where they are more forgiving and can hide mistakes much more easily. These vehicles of yours look very good and once the paint is thrown down, they will look official I am betting.

Simply fantastic work.

I really like your conversion of the Aliens APC. Any chance you could snap a picture with a Space Marine next to your models for scale? (more specifically the APC )

Oh, Do you plan on adding tracks to the middle of the Thor? I think this would only make since for a Titan Tank to have mid-section treads.

Ditto on the tracks. Maus, the ill-fated German World War II experimental, had them so wide its lower hull was a third of its total width. Its predecessors, particularly the King Tiger, and the Jagdtiger, suffered from a similar affliction, but you probably know it already. I bet changing tracks each time the tank was loaded and unloaded on the flat car had to be a real pain in the neck.

<3 . However I must say that Thor looks a bit more IG than SM with the sandbags, sotwage, comms and all. I think something SM would be more like a moving cathedral crawling with servo skulls, servitors and laquerd with motheaten scrolls and purity seals, prayers etched into the tarnished armour.
