I love the Kapitan but that new model just doesn't do it for me. One of the downsides of using Zbrush and other digital modelling packages is how easy it is to zoom in and add layer after layer of tiny details, and sometimes you need to step back a bit and look at the overall model. The Kapitan is nice and clean, the new one looks like the sculptor got a bit carried away with the technology and forgot to stop.

Seconded. The giganto scabbard looks even more stupid when she's holding a better-proportioned sword.

Alternative variant of the SciFi Ashara:

Raging Heroes wrote:So here it is, the second version of our Sci-Fi Asharah. As we told you in the previous post, we are still debating about selling these two versions as a single set with all options included like the Fantasy edition of Asharah or as two distinct miniatures. Do tell us what you think.

Also, if you want to pre-order/order this mini, just add your name to our newsletter and we'll let you know when pre-orders begin. (availability planned for mid August)

BTW there is also the Fantasy variant with different heads and no pistol, might be worth a look.

She looks like she'd fit right in with the Cryx army I'm building, maybe as a stand-in pSkarre. Obviously it isn't the same character, but the knife-pistol, sword, and horned helmet fit all of Skarre's weaponry perfectly and she can have her own back story.

Third variant:

Sci-Fi Asharah's master - Part 3

posted July 13, 2011

And finally, here is the third variant of Asharah SF.
This Asharah SF will be in 28mm scale, just like Fantasy Asharah.

As we told you in previous posts, we were debating selling the Asharah SF variants separately, but your feedback has been overwhelmingly for us to include everything in a single kit, just like for the Fantasy edition of Asharah. So we are curcurrently working towards that end. And because of that, we are able to include this new head to the kit, bringing the total possible versions of Asharah SF to three.

Again, if you want to pre-order/order this mini, just add your name to our newsletter and we'll let you know when pre-orders begin. The availability is still planned for mid-August.

First preview pic for two new Fantasy monsters:

Raging Heroes wrote:Have you seen how Monsters and Large Creatures tend to be for Evil Armies only?
And in fact, we've also followed this trend with our Manticore and large Demon Legendary Kahn-Urkan.

But the truth is that we've been thinking about a Phoenix for a long time now.
A giant creature of fire setting the scum of evil ablaze, cleansing the world from the rampant forces of darkness.
A majestic mystical bird that will side with Elves or Knights, or any armies of Good.

Yet this creature of light shall need a mighty opponent.
So we're also working on a dragon of darkness, something big and unique.
Stay tuned for more info about these creatures in the next few days…

Might be usable for Storm of Magic

Interesting...

The Manticore was awesome, as was the Lammasu addition, so I'm looking forward to seeing these monsters done up in the RH style!

Not only the mantissu, but their other large pieces like the 54mm characters are done in high quality resin. What are you getting worked up about?

Raging Heroes wrote:A bit more info on the Phoenix

posted July 28, 2011

So, what can we tell you about this Phoenix? Well, here are our plans (note that they can still change or evolve):

The miniature will most likely be a resin kit. Maybe a bit bigger than our Manticore because of its great fire wings.

Its pose should allow for a rider, so that you can use it instead of a mounted dragon or a griffin for example. To tell the truth, we picture this phoenix ridden by a sumptuous Elven Queen that would be none other than Eleriel and Alariel's mother.

On the above picture, you can see various sketches for the Phoenix head.

But what you may also like is that this mini will be available in a second version: By changing its head and tail, you'll get… a terrifying Cocatrice!

So let the suspense last a little bit more… We will tell you more and show you some great concept art in the next few days.

Here are the first images of our evil dragon sculpt. Inspired by the ancient Caduceus and legends of two-headed snakes, this creature is a messenger of evil, a dark omen of ruin and destruction.

As you can see, the sculpt is far from being finished and so we would like to know how do you see this creature turns out.

Please read the notes on the images to get a better feel of what is still in the works and what is close to completion.

Also note that we will probably release a single-head version of this beast as well.

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Is that dragon sculpted so it can be ridden? If not I'm not interested.

I think the legs are too close together and the heads should be longer and bigger.

The lower legs are too small, too short and don't exactly look naturally bent imo.

I think the heads should be asymetric as well, makes it look more evil.

Delayed indeed, but advancing well. We are waiting for the first protoype to come in later this week. If all is good, we'll open the pre-orders, and have them ready to ship 2 weeks later. If we need changes made, that will mean an extra week or so.

That Kapitan is very... inspiring.

It's a great model, and I'm probably in the minority on this, but I think I might have liked it more if she didn't look like she was a stripper in her day job.

The SF Asharah with the mask on is purely win.

The gas mask is a great addition to the above model.

I really like this line about the dragon:
Here are the first images of our evil dragon sculpt. Inspired by the ancient Caduceus and legends of two-headed snakes, this creature is a messenger of evil, a dark omen of ruin and destruction.

If only they'd done this with the Lammassu... show their inspiration to be mythology (as everyone's is) and they've got their bases covered.

Also, lol at Kroothawk "TM'ing" "dark" "elf" and "dragon" separately
