I like the idea of bewbs being described as 'Herioc'.

She has no thighs! She must be curvatious, also a corset tends to squish in at the waist, infact i would go as far as saying that is the whole point of them Get some chunk on that gurl.

There's some good touches but i think you should do some internet based research to top up your anatomy knowledge.

Yes, it does appear that her legs are a bit thin, I'll work on that. It's difficult to see most of the areas that need touched up until you look at the pictures. Next female I sculpt should be on a 1:1 scale! I don't think my wife would like that though... ...Especially if I use the model I am thinking of as reference!

Female chaos commisar/dominatrix in thigh length boots and corset? How come I've only just found this thread?! It's looking really good. I think you're very brave building a model completely from scratched, but it's paying off. Subscribed!

Well, Mokeyh, I try to keep my viewers entertained! And yes, it was very ambitious of me to take this on, but how do you know what you can do until you try it?

I know there are plenty of really good minitures out there I could have bought and converted them, but they just weren't what I was looking for. And it's not a FULL sculpt anyway, I'm cheating with the head, hands and weapons.

Also, since I'm adding a GW head, and GW hands and weapons, I figure it will be about 10% or 15% GW, is that good enough for a tournament? Not that I will ever play in one, or have a large enough army to, but just in case?

I would have thought so - I mean, they would be pleased to see anything scratch built - wouldn't they? After all, there are plenty of characters in 40K that they don't actually make a model for - so you would have to build something to use them.

Update! Got some work done this weekend...not as much as I wanted to, but still some.

I added a bit of meat to her thighs, not much because her boots are done, but hopefully enough to make them look better.
Also started on her coat, the back panels are done, I just need to do the front.
Oh, and her corset. What do you think?

Getting the hem line in the back of the coat was one of the most tedious things I've done!

I was going to have her coat buttoned and belted with the Commisar Sash around the coat instead of a belt, but I'm now thinking I'll put the sash around her corset, and keep the coat open. Any comments or other ideas?

I feel like you could get some great feel by strapping her pistol to her thigh (great place for a holster) ,
putting her sword in the other hand, and really going for the 'F' you gesture.

@black templar- Most likely! Hahahaha

@M0rdain- Thanks, I can't wait to see her with her face either! I am hoping it gets here soon, according to the tracker, as of Saturday, it was 350 miles away. So maybe by Tuesday? Then I can hopefully post a pic on Wednesday.

@akaean- She won't have that weapon or hand for long, it's just there for the pose. I have a new weapon coming this week. The new weapon is a 2 hander, so I'll see which hand it looks better in and maybe make a mock-up with her flipping the bird. That could look cool too. And I have a sweet pistol holster bit I could use too. Hmmmmm.

The corset's looking great! The thighs are looking a bit better. It's had to tell from the new pics, but at least in the older one I think the main problem was how skinny the right thigh got where it met her butt.

And at the risk of sounding crude, you did a good job with her chest. With the cups on the corset there, they actually look pretty natural, which seems to be a relative rarity in the world of miniatures. Well maybe "natural" isn't the right word but at least they appear to be obeying the laws of physics, from what I can tell.

You made me snort my coffee! And thanks! But also props have to go to the people who made great critiques here and corrected my anatomical faux paus! She still isn't perfect, but most of her will be covered by the coat, so I think it will stay.

I really like the way the corset turned out too. The bottom part of it will most likely be bronze (armor) and the cups black or red. Not sure. She will have bikini bottoms, don't know if I should sclupt them or just paint them on. And I want to try a Khorne tattoo on her chest (maybe inner thigh?), we'll see how that goes.

Yeah, good job on the bust.

A tip for the legs. Don't think of the hips as a separate part of the legs- rather, the body goes to the waist, then there's a triangle of flesh and bone that goes down to the groin. The legs, then, are basically large hams (that's the body part, actually) that go to the knees. What that means, is that the bend for the leg would actually be right at the bottom of the corset, and the butt would simply be (and is) the back/top of the leg. The reason so many people are asking for more meat and hip isn't just for carnal reasons, but because that's literally, even more so than the breasts, the thing that makes a woman's sillhouette female. The hips should actually start curving out right from the corset, the widest point, the joint where it bends, should be wider than the armpits (about halfway through the shoulder joint), and it should all curve down to the knee in a raindrop shape from there.

Now, you've already got the coat, so you can't do much to the rear, and honestly, you don't really need to- the butt on your most recent sculpt is looking fine. But you'll need to put another layer of GS or epoxy or whatnot on the tops and, if possible, sides of the legs (though legs are thinner side to side than they are front-to-back), to bring the leg flesh up to the corset.

Calves are really good, and the head's gonna look great (proportionally) when the hair's on there, so good job there, though.

Maybe mold the thighs into the butt a little more, 40k juvenant treatments would be given to the Comissariat as they age, so she would look a bit tighter at 40 or 140!

@tipios- Thanks! "Thumb in" seems to be the more popular. I am please so far with how she's shaping out.

@Anvildude- I see now, I need less space from the bend in the leg to the top of the hip, right? I think I can make that happen. Thank you very much for the detailed explanation!

@Squigsquasher- Unimpressed at any one thing in particular? Or just my sculpting ability all together? I am very open to helpfull critisizm, I am here to learn and better myself though sharing. Just in the course of a couple of pages of this blog, the critiques of others has made me a better sculptor. Thanks for stopping by.

@Zefig- Thanks! Thumb out looks horrible when a guy does it, but I sometimes find it sexy when women do it, that's why I asked. Also, I don't know if I will go this route, just presenting options.

@marmaduke- Thanks! I can't wait either!

Yup, exactly. However, you also need to make the legs thicker, which lets you solve two problems with one easy application of modeling putty!

@dsteingass- the butt area is going to be almost completely covered by the coat, so I am not spending any more time back there.

Anvildude wrote:Yup, exactly. However, you also need to make the legs thicker, which lets you solve two problems with one easy application of modeling putty!

Easy?...maybe. I'll have to re-do part of the boots too, but that should be ok, just take longer, and most likely one leg per day, so I don't mess up what I did on the other one. I might make the calves bigger too, so they are not dis-proportionate.

Update: I got the head and the weapon in the mail last night! The head looks great, and is the right size! (whew!) She's a bit angrier than I originally thought, but that looks fine with her flipping the bird. I am going to stay with "the Bird", because when I mocked it up with her new head it just looked so awesome!

However, I did have some set-backs, as I was putting her head on, I dropped her and several parts came off, and I couldn't find them, so I will have to re-sculpt them. So no pictures for now, maybe tomorrow.

But just as a teaser, the weapon looks fantastic! It will need some modifications, as it came from a fantasy model, but it will look great! I am saving the reveal of the weapon for the very last though!

I want to thank everyone again that has offered constructive criticism. I know you have helped me make this the best model I can do! Maybe the next one will be even better!
