Hey guys, I'm back on this blog now! And I've got some WIP stuff for you to gaze upon. I took a look at this blog the other day, and came to the conclusion that I didn't like how I did Colonel Roland...so I decided to rework the model a bit. The first thing I did was hack off his sword arm and precariously grind it down with my dad's bench grinder. Then I ground down the joint area on the torso for a smooth fit. After that, it was a simple matter of gluing the arm in place. After I did that, I took a pair of pliers and bent the pistol arm a bit at the elbow to make it a little more dynamic-ish. Then I stripped the paint. I am currently waiting on 5 rifle slings, 5 ammo belts, and 100 bases from Victoria Lamb. The bases are extras in case I need them for a future project (cough cough cough), and the ammo belts and slings are going to be gifted to shotgun sergeants and Roland (conveniently, there are only 4 shotgun sergeants). I will post progress as this happens.

In addition, the 812th is going to be getting a..."new recruit". More on Saturday.

A quick addendum, I'm also planning on stripping and repainting Kolso, since I feel I can do better.

The army is also going to be re-based for more contrast.

Gentlemen, a dark presence has found its way into the 812th. Colonel Roland is quietly shaken by the newcomer's presence. The only ones truly unaffected by this "Herald of Strife" are the Kasrkin, who gladly accept his skills with open arms.

That's right ladies and gentlemen! Cypher has joined the 812th. This will be something of a side project while I wait for those bits to come in, so I'll try to get this guy finished up ASAP.

Welcome back Smitty!

I really like the repositioning of the power sword on that officer. And just out of curiosity, what do you have in mind for the rebasing??

Yeah, so I decided to take a look at some of my models...and I've got the itch again. Something I haven't related with you all is that I've been feeling kind of uninspired and a little overwhelmed. I took a modelling break, only working on miniatures tiny bits at a time. However, today was different. I felt inspired, and I felt ready to work on miniatures again. So without further ado, here's what I've done (it wasn't much, but I will probably use all of my free time to work on models now).

Sgt. Howe, a veteran squad leader, has been finished modelling wise.

All that remains for him is a sweet paintjob. The snow effects is the basis for my mud.

I also got around to basing and priming Colonel Roland.

I will paint him soon, I think. He deserves it, frankly.

Spoiler alert, I'm using the attachment description for commentary. :P

Here's the other 3 veteran shotgun sergeants. 2 of them need camo cloaks, and all of them need to be based.

Hey guys, long time no update. I've been meaning to work on stuff, but college has been taking up a lot of my time. That said, I found some time to work on a counts as Vindicare assassin for my army. Meet Guardsman "Rat", who is an inquisitorial henchman assigned to the 812th. The legs, arms, torso, and head are from Mad Robot Miniatures, the sniper rifle and pistol (on his right side, need to get a picture) are from Anvil Industry, the knife is from the heavy weapons team box, the scope is a space marine scope, and the stuff on the base is from the Terminus Ultra conversion sprue.

Rat is actually based off of a Dark Heresy character that I haven't gotten a chance to play yet. A detail that I added (that is not visible because I haven't gotten a picture) is that he is missing the ring finger on his left hand. That's because he tore his finger out (not off, out) of his hand to use as a shiv to eat a rat in an inquisitorial holding cell. The bone from his finger was then converted into a hilt for his knife after he was let out. "Rat" is a mindwiped survivor of the Mara Landing Massacre, and as a result is...pretty nuts. However, he is more than willing to take out the enemies of the Imperium at extreme range...with extreme prejudice.

Wow, it's been a while since I've updated this.

Still working on this army, haven't gotten around to painting anything yet though.

There's these, however.

Some female reinforcements, if you will.

I also got this book, and I'll be using it for the many vehicles in my army.

Never fear, I will be back on this in the near future.
