Nice kits, ime almost sold. I just need a road way or something but i want it without the confines of the ground, like up in the air or something, even just a little.

These are awesome, love the dark humour.

The Dolphin Shack is the best!

These will be perfect for use in my Warpath games, since the Corporation faction are a dystopian future government as well, loosely based on what would happen if lawyers ruled the galaxy.

Terrain budget is a little low at the moment, but this stuff is at the top of my want list since it is absolutely the best .mdf stuff currently on the market.

The Warp Gates are really cool. Surprised you didn't do a not-Stargate as well, that would have been awesome, and would have tied in with the slight nods to pop culture throughout the range (Jurassic Park, Blade Runner, etc.).

Hi all

While we've been pretty quiet on the interwebz for a while, we have actually been doing something with the time! Here's some shots of our next product (after the elevated roads of course ), the MULE (Modular Unit - Living Environment). This represents the second wave of colonization after the wave of PUPs has been setup, using the same idea of modularity but with a slightly more streamlined pleasing to the eye look for the colonists' families.

One of the things we realised about multi-storey buildings is no matter how easy they are to un-stack, most of the time you probably won't bother using the different floors due to the hassle of taking them apart without sending models flying, so to combat this problem as well as stacking, the pod units can slide out from each level without disrupting the stack, letting you move a mini around inside then sliding it back into place. Also, the central units totally support the MULE, so you can have suspended units without needing a separate L-shaped building . We reckon it'll make this the most useable multi-level building out there.

This shows the basic pod and the central support units, now the base models are done (minus the detailing) we'll have at least a shop and bar variant ready for release, as well as a walkway for joining central units together to make really big complexes. The pods have doors both ends for models to enter via the pods or the central units. Also, the fences around the MULE are a placeholder design and will be made prettier

Now enjoy the pretty pictures

Great stuff Warmill! Seriously. How much do you think one of these bridges will be going for? http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/369573-.html

I can think of so many uses for these! The possibilities are endless by the looks of them, how long before I can buy some?!

Great work guys, your creative skills and the way you make everything so modular really sets you apart from the other companies out there in your line of work. I would list some but can't think of any atm, guess that is a good sign!

WANT.

They look quite nice unpainted, the contrast between the dark lasered edges and the light wood makes them look kinda sci-fi by default.

I think you're on to a best-seller here, the mechano factor of being able to stack and build an entire massive block in multiple configurations is the appeal here.. I like how you've gone with a system of central nodes and rectangular shaped links in between them.

There's lots of cool stuff that could be done with this... thinner corridors/ walkways that link one central node to another, a massive central hexagon node building that 6 MULEs or walkways etc can come off of would be great as a centrepiece or for making more dynamic battlefields with hexagon layouts for the central buildings.

A small triangular central node with 3 doors coming out if it could also work well for providing that "odd angle" approach.

Kinda like those hexagon kits from robogear... they were great in theory, but had way too many tiny parts to practically re-arrange all the time, so this system of being easily able to swao out nodes and links in a gargantuan urban complex is definitely the way to go.

If it can build a whole Necromunda/ Infinity board in the space of 5-10 minutes just by slotting things together, then its on to a winner.

Thanks for the comments guys, this has been a pretty long development through 3 previous ideas that got dropped after they got too complex or didn't allow for enough modularity, so it's good to finally have something to show for all the head scratching!

The plan is for them to be available some time next month, though finishing the model is only half the job :(

Not sure about the webstore problem, we use a site builder so it could just be under a heavy load right now.

Can the central core be stacked so it twists 45 degrees between each level? I thought it might be able to but on looking at the pegs on the roof of the core it doesn't look like it can.

Also, will there be an internal corner so that the walkway can be continued around passed the core window between MULE's?

And some kind of "main entrance" MULE might be cool for the ground level.

These look great!

If we choose to them have them significantly above ground level, I hope that you're working on some sort of transportation path or option that will help us access them that high up...

No, although scarletsquig's suggestion of different shaped cores is something I think we'll have to look into, as the cores only really consist of 2 parts which could be arrayed in almost any number of sides.

There is an internal corner, you can just see it on one of the overhead shots where the walkway is slightly longer on one side of the MULE than the other

The main entrance is the next part to make, it's already been accounted for

The cores are basically lift shafts that let you travel up the levels, once there you can go straight into a pod then out onto the walkway, or straight out onto the walkway from the core if you don't have a pod on each connector. There will also be a fire-escape staircase to go on the outside between walkway levels.

Or a catapult.

I think that would be something colonies would want to turn the standard modules into a wide range of buildings. Even something that is essentially a set of stairs so units can be stacked up would be really useful.

Cool, I must have missed it

Well we just did a quick render (which brought Ed's PC grinding to a halt ) and amazingly, in spite of absolutely no forethought a 3 level stack of MULEs does in fact put the top pod walkway at the same level as the elevated roads. Incredible!
