Nice collection of forge world goods you have there, look forward to seeing them assembled and painted.

Once my codex arrives in the mail I think I'll take a small break from Chaos to paint up the 2 flyers.

After a lot of work on the bloodcrushers I managed to assemble, clean and green-stuff them:



The heads and riders aren't glued since it'll be easier to paint that way. I hid all the pins with green-stuff as well. All of them have 3 pins (both hind legs and left front leg) into the base for stability. The heads are pinned as well. You may notice some plastic (heresy) but I couldn't manage to make a musician that looked good so I used the torso/arm of the plastic musician. I crafted a spear for one of the crushers which will serve as an icon (probably going to attach a small banner to it).

With that, I just have to wait for it all to harden properly and then clean the greenstuff a bit. Then it's off to the priming station!

Had some time to work on the first Herald's Juggernaut:


I'm going to try one first before I mass-produce the unit itself.

looking good I asm actually getting ready to start a daemon army my army will consist of the new models but its ok...i love how yours is all the older models looks very characterful...jugg looks great maybe a red wash to either darken his teeth or change the color of them just a thought.

My word who needs a gym when your figure cases contain this much metal!

I've yet to really start on the khorne section of my army so lots of inspiring stuff, I feel your pain with using the hellcannon, mine was also a warpy mess of metal, fortunately mine went on a nurgle model

I'm well trained at lugging big cases of metal with my Sisters of Battle army!

First Herald is mostly finished:

Darker base colour like every 2nd unit in my army (I have 2 of most things, one light coloured, one dark)

The grunts in the Bloodcrusher unit won't have gold lining, but silver to distinguish them easily. (a bit like the 1st chariot's juggernauts).

As a break (and because it's such a great model), I started on the Avatar of Khaine - forgeworld style.

Lots of coats, washes and dry-brushing later... Now I just need to high-light the cracks.

I bought a lot of 20+ off Ebay cheaply. But it took some months of watching auctions, they don't show up much.

Did some work on the Nightwing Interceptor (since my codex and goodies are arriving this tuesday):



Had to be creative because of the sliding mechanism. Forgeworld was kind enough to ship a modern Flying Stand with it (although their website doesn't say this, so I ordered two separately...). But there's no hole for it on the bottom. It did come with a small piece of resin in the shape of the flying stand..

But the sliding mechanism is on the bottom! So I made a stand-off so I can still access it. There are 2 small, flat, but strong magnets inside the adapter so I can remove the flying stand. I'm not sure whether I'm going to glue the adapter to the flyer, but if it works well enough I might.

Since my Eldar codex arrived I've been working on the flyers a bit:

Having the day off helps a lot to get painting done.

Been busy with all sorts of work-related stuff, but I did work on another Eldar Flyer:



Since I have a tournament coming up in a few weeks I had to decide which army to take, and I think I can finish off my Bloodcrushers before then so I will go with the Daemons! The pointy-eared invasion of this thread is over for now.

Back to the demons. I'm working on 4 Bloodcrushers now. One will double as the champion and a herald:



Because I bought it off Ebay without the sword attached I converted a spear from a bit of brass and a spare sword from a real herald I had left over (after making one with an axe). The legs were _very_ bent on this one and even with copious pinning it wasn't that stable. So I made I had to support the front legs. I will disguise it with some foliage on the base later on.

This makes me nostalgia, hard. I'm really happy to see this. Keep it up!

Worked on the first 3 Bloodcrusher grunts:


I'm going to paint 4 with the bright red and 4 with the dark red so I can run 2 squads of 5 (4 grunts + herald) if needed.

Finished the first 4 grunts, a top view of the currently finished squad:


4 Bloodcrushers + 3 Heralds.

The front one has a spear and I had to disguise the very long stabilising pin with some foliage.

With that done I have 11 bloodcrushers. 8 normal grunts (with one as a musician) and 3 Heralds (one doubling as unit upgrade champion). I still need to get one more from Ebay to make a standard bearer (although the spear-toting bloodcrusher can be a banner bearer in a pinch).

Let's hope it doesn't suffer the New Model Syndrome in my first tournament!

One of the few units I've bought complete from GW itself (since it was one of the few metal ones left). I'm also snapping up older harpies from Ebay to make a 2nd unit.

Unfortunately my Furies contained the wrong wings! I'm left with 15 complete pairs and 10 right wings. E-mail off to GW and wait I guess!

Another month goes by and the tally is:

Definitely slower! I blame the release of the Eldar codex.. GW can't do anything right!

Edition Nurgle is coming closer! I also managed to snag some Gorkamorka Mutie Raiders. I'm going to use their steeds with some old metal plaguebearers as Nurgle Cavalry, aka Plague Drones. I don't like the idea of big flies but I do want me some cavalry!

For an upcoming tournament I worked on a way to keep track of daemonic rewards and psychic powers:

Very cheap $1 magnetic white board and a whole lot of magnetic fridge words (also cheap). With a label printer and some time cutting/pasting them I will make a magnetic counter for each reward and psychic power. (Please ignore the typo on the paper, it's v1!)

Why no Tzeentch?!

Khorne first, then Nurgle. Tzeentch and Slaanesh are still in the future (well in boxes in the closet).

I ran out of Blood Red so am using Evil Sunz Red. It's subtly different combined with the wash.

I quite like these models, I went for an old-skool colour scheme:
