More pictures? Usually we get more info and pictures. Where is all the info? GD really seemed to have slacken off. I remember even last year there was excitment on the forums over Games Day. It seems dead now.

Is this the things to come for GW now? I mean if you can't dazzle on your own shows, what is there to expect then?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Honestly, this Games Day seems to be a big failure on GW's part, according to all the pictures and comments I've seen so far. The "premier" event for the "world's best miniatures company" doesn't seem to be very spectacular. Some cool models, but no open gaming? GW just seems to not care so much these days. I'll be at the Ogre launch party from Steve Jackson Games in October, and I bet that will be a blast.

Nice to see a painted version of the new HH battle tank. Not quite sold on its appearance, though. Something about it just doesn't look right to me.

I have a bunch of pictures from Games Day here. These include pics of the Armies on Parade, terrain, some Golden Demon entries, etc.

I also have a sort of funny story from Games Day. I was looking through the program at who all from the Design Studio was in attendance. I saw Chris Peach listed, and it said he was the "Studio's master of army painting." So I went over to ask him a question about a painting technique. He is in a conversation with another guy so while I wait for them to finish their conversation, I pull out my pen and program and start circling the sessions that I want to try to get in for the rest of the day. As they finish up their conversation and the other guy walks off, he sees me standing there with pen and program in hand. He immediately pulls out his pen and says all excitedly "Let me guess: you want me to sign your program?" I'm like, "No, i was just planning out the rest of my day, but I do have a painting question." He looked sort of deflated when he realized I didn't want his autograph. Who do the GW guys think they are, rock stars or something? lol

He was a nice fellow though, and I did get some good painting tips. I just thought the whole "autograph" thing was a bit comical.

I knew someone who got their codex signed by loads of people at a gamesday so they probably do get asked. It's probably more exciting for people who are meeting 'celebs' for the first time.

I really like the look of some of the new FW stuff thats on its way, the Robot especially !!
From what I have heard it was just as bad as the UK games day, to which I always attend but only to meet up with a few people nowadays as the even itself is always a let down, in fact actually it sounds like the US one is actually better !!
we dont get a grab bag in the UK !!

What I want to know is what the hell that little floaty thing next to the Battle Automata is. It looks very Ad-Mech, but no one seems to have any photos of it.

No, it was a huge crowd. The place it was held at was huge and provided more than enough space for everyone. 1000+ people were there, but because there was plenty of room for everyone to move around and get from one session to another without having to walk through people, the place didn't have that "packed" look.

Yeah, 1000+ people really means very little as far as conventions go...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
And yeah, the lack of any actual news out of GD is hardly surprising. It was fairly obvious that this would be the case when GW started thinking that people knowing what they are working on more than 5 minutes before release would result in the complete destruction of the wargaming hobby.

And 1000 people for a US gamesday... again, not a surprise, since from memory that was about how many tickets they said they were selling... But it is ridiculously small, and seems hardly worth the effort. The last Oz games day I went to had supposedly over 9000 attendees. In Australia. A decade ago.

I won't say much about demon other then this was the most unprofessional job I have ever seen. Models broken and poorly treated by the judges no less. The judges pulled out some and handed them to random people so they could get pics. How do I know tet were random because I know who's mini it was. Even worse announcing a winner who wasn't even in the category is horrible. Thank god she had some integrity as others won't. It was just an awful demon and games day and to see winners and top 5s who violate GWs own rules is a disgrace to the comp. truthfully those three judges made it an utter joke.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Curious, was there anything significant about the mounted daemonette and the nurgle warrior? Did they win anything?
