Alright, since it was fourth of July weekend a couple weeks ago and have been very pre-occupied with other business. Managed to get High Paladin Dartan Vilmon done, and might focus on some of my Chaos for the time being so I can finish more of that up. As well, I got myself a little treat but now I might save up my money for the future release of Infinity: Operation Icestorm.

I was thinking an orange/yellowish kind of color. Might try to do a test scheme after I get some of my backlog done.

Got my Chaos Lord now painted up. Kind of forgot how to do the white I usually do so it does not look as good. Also, I managed to get a game of Warmachine in this week so I will post that up soon (one pic of it but oh well. Had to cut it short because something came up).

Managed to get some more stuff done. Now almost finished of what I have for chaos and Menoth as well, just by a couple models (well, that is until I receive my shipment of menoth by Miniature Market until then. Damn that 40% off sale).

Also, I might be making a Orc Warband for Mordheim since I have possibly found a group. Possibility of stuff in the near future, but I might focus on some Nercomunda soon and some of my other Warmahorde items after I finish my Chaos.

So, Grand Exemplar Kreoss is finished up (i.e Kreoss2 or eKreoss). Working on my last Knight Exemplar Sesnechal and pFeora so I will plan to finish them up soon, and since there is a WMH league going on, that might be my main goal just so I can get points since I cannot get too many games in this month most likely.

Since I am part of a Warmachine league for the Scar of Caen series and have not been getting a lot of games due to work, I am planning on painting a large chunk of my Warmahordes collect (yes, I know sorry. I just want to get hobby points for it). Also, I have a Black Orc Warband for Mordheim in the works and plan to paint up my Orlock gain slowly.

Got pFeora and a Exemplar Sensechal done. Might try to get a game with pFeora, but I heard she is not the greatest Warcaster in the Menoth faction.

I like the improvement I am seeing over the time you have been posting.

Your paints are still way to thick. Thinning them out more will give you a much better look and a smoother transition between colors.

That is still one of my main weak points. It seems I just make still thick or I water them down way too much.

I know it is suppose to be a milky like texture. You got any hints and tips that helps with that?

Here is how I do it.

I use dropper bottles. I even moved all of my old GW and my P3 paints over to them (you can get them really cheap from usplastics).
For most painting I use a wet pallet and I thin at about a 2:1 paint to water onto the wet pallet and that seems about right for what I do. For glazes or blending I use 1:1. Rule of thumb is what people call "skim milk". I find that to be about right. Play with it on something that is primed that you don't care about. Too thin and the paint beads up.

The nice thing about the droppers is you can count by drops so your mixes are always consistent

If you don't want to spend the money to move everything over you can always get cheap disposable eye dropper thingys and use those to pull paint from your pots. The key thing is consistency.

Also don't expect to be able to cover in one coat.

Like the Menoth guys. My group is starting to get into Warmachine, so I have picked up a Menoth starter and a few other boxes.

In regards to thinning paint. I find its hard to give exact advice because paints are so different. I use P3, Vallejo, and citadel paints. I usually don't have to water the P3 or Vallejo paints. Citadel paints I often do, but even among their own line they have different consistencies. For example, chaos black is thick as can be, while the bleached bone I find is already thinner than I like it. Long story short... you just have to experiment until you find what you like and looks good.

Alright, I think I have some eyedroppers around the house. Also not sure if this is a good idea but I might try and recycle my used up Vallejo paint bottles, clean and wash them out and try to switch the paint over to them, but I'll take the eyedropper idea.

Welcome to Warmachine mate!

Kind of a heads up and warning ahead of time, this game, while very balanced and well-made, has a very different mind-set when it comes to list-building and how it plays. The best way to learn this game is kind of unlearn what you have learned about Tabletop gaming from other games you have player. Now, this is not to say that they are bad per se, but Warmachine/Hordes from what I have found has a very different approach than those who have played other games before. I hope this does not deter you away, I just only wish to give you a heads up.

Since you picked up some Menoth, did you get the Choir at least? I say this because that is a mandatory purchase for the faction after you get used to the battlebox since they are cheap and help your jacks out a lot. This ranges from anti-shooting to magic, to buffing their combat effectiveness. As well, Menoth's playstyle is like almost Blue/White or Blue/Green plays: Synergy is your big thing, and so is denial of magic or so to make it difficult for your opponent. However, your warcasters are usually not so great in the defensive stat field, and the Menoth faction usually relies on Synergy since one model is not so great unsupported by buffs and de-buffs.

Also, here is a resource to help you out a bit. Gives a good rundown of units and so on and how to make them effective, but do take with a bit of a grain of salt.

I did get a choir. That and some Idirian skirmishers. I was told they weren't that good, but I liked the models, plus they can be used at ratskins for Necromunda, so I got them.

They are okay, but they need support or need a bit of skill to make them work. Although they look like Ratskins so that works. I do recommend their UA if you have not gotmit, because it makes them a lot more effective from what I have seen. Also works as a leader and that. One thing of note is too is possibly is keep them on their 30 mm base they come with since the rules are finekey about it in Warmachine.

Now, I managed to get the Menoth Junior Warcaster, Inititate Tristan Durant. Took a while to get the eyes right, but I think it makes it a bit more lively, considering I do not do eyes a whole lot.

As well, I will reveal what I got in the box after I get off of work. But for now, I will make you guess.

Honestly, that was not to be intentional, but I do like the outcome still. Might touch it up with a bit of highlighting. I did also get a start on some of my Necro models, so I might show off my work in progress in a little bit before the night closes out.

Here is my unboxing of the Fireforge Games Sergeants-at-Arms.
Alright, for my first impression on the kit. The models are nicely detailed and dynamically posted in comparison to Games Workshop Brettonian Knights and Mounted Yeomen, and four more than the Knight Errants/Knights of the Realm box. As well it comes with a good selection to make these guys with Spears, Hand Weapons and Crossbows. The down side to this is that the some of the load out options come with not enough for all twelve Sergeants so you may want to get another kit of these guys to make 12 Spear users or so on. As all the bits are finely detailed for true scale 28 mm.
Now, I will slowly build them up and show off the progress as I give more of my thoughts on it later on. Thus far, I am impressed by this kit.

Well, I managed to pick up my pre-order of Operation: Ice storm. Here is a bit of an unboxing of it and got done with washing the models. The models look nice detailed and come in bags to know what goes together. Only complaints I have is CB's trademark small antennae which need a bit of work to put on and the bits have a good amount of flash you need to clean. It also comes with three dice per faction, templates, markers, a Game Mat and some Paper terrain that is foldable for easy baggage.

Overall, I am impressed thus far and feel it was a good deal for the price of it.

So after I got myself settled in and got a good chunk of school work finished for the semester, I painted up some things.

I got myself another ganger done for my Orlock. A heavy with a Heavy stubber. Also got a bit of a start on my two Kings of War armies. One I plan to make a Orc/Undead evil army, and I plan to make a Crusader Kingdom of Men army. The KoM army I might get some Basiliea units and see if they fit.

Going to be focusing a bit more on Warmahordes yet again as there is a league and gives me a bit of motivation to finish up the rest I need since it is a major chunk of what I need to finish up.
