Almost done with the Imperial Fist bikers. Only some weathering and varnishing left to do.

Very cool, great grading on the yellow and I do really like the reds as well

Biker looks great . But have you seen the new Farrow beasts in the Hordes Devastation book? There's a big thread over on the PP Minions forum about whether to include them in Nature of the Beast tier lists:

http://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?238931-NOTB-Tier-List-Will-you-be-taking-the-new-farrow-beasts

Personally, I'm planning to include a few just for variety

We were running an event this weekend, and with all the prep work and last minute painting, I couldn't do a proper photoshoot of the bikes. A friend still took a couple of good pics, so I have at least a shot of the finished models before giving them back to the client.

Yeah, I've seen them. I was really looking forward the Splatter Boar based on the first teaser that didn't exclude friendly beast in the frenzy check. Ok, we don't have Fury management, but we could have had Frenzy Management. Still looking forward to both of the new lights. Lots of great options.

I've run Nature of the Beast 3 times Saturday during our team event, and Carver once. Finished 3-1 (lost with Carver). It is a lot of fun to play, but again people not prepared for it, it's not even funny how fast it can get in their grill. And how chirurgical you can be with support removaal with the Razor Boars on the feat. I'll probably stick to playing the Theme Force only for tournaments (so mostly never), or if my opponents ask for it. My usual group my be too casual minded for that kind of list.

I've been lately working on some secret stuff that I need to wait before posting, but I also finished these 3 Lizardmen this weekend for a joint commission with a buddy painter. He tackled a big Temple Guards unit, while I was working on a trio of heroes.

The painting date back a couple of months, but I just got a go to share them. Recently, I've had the pleasure of painting some miniatures for the Arcadia Quest Inferno kickstarter by CoolMiniOrNot running right now. Two of those were shared in updates this weekend.

Take a look at the game too:

To follow (late-ish...) the painting of the M4 Buildings kickstarter by MC Studio in March, here is a tutorial on how to paint them with the "official" colour scheme.

Happy painting!

I got into Guild Ball recently, but was stuck using their paper models as I didn't have time to work on my models. That's over now, and I've just started working on my Butchers' Captain, Ox. Mostly colour blocking for now, and some shading work on the pants and apron.

A bit more work done on Ox. Might be able to finish him tonight, as there shouldn't be other stuff in the way at home. Yay for the holiday break starting in a couple hours!

I also put a first base coat on my fullsize mat (3x3). No pic, as it's just a 3x3 brown square right now...

Looking good so far, Tonio! That apron especially, although it's rather clean for a "butcher" I like it, different from how you usually see them

Well, weathering and blood effects might happen later on.

Okay that's probably good . I love the color and how sharp it is, but it couldn't stay that pure without any spots for long

I took a pause on Ox last night to work on my game mat, but I'll be returning to him this evening. Only missing the goal tokens zones and goal lines.

Mat looks extremely convincing! Is it an actual mat, and if so what is it based on?

The base mat is the woodland one from Zuzzy. The company is a pain to deal with, but the product is good. The lines design on it is a pale copy of the official mat done by Steamforged games.

Back home after some time away with the family for the holidays. I got some more painting time on Ox. Pretty much done except the base and some weathering and blood.

He's awesome! Only question is are you sure you want that much grey at his temples - he's looking a bit grandpa-ish (fitting for the season, but still!). Lovely work .

Also linked to your second Gorax conversion as someone on the PP Minions forum was thinking of trying a similar idea (adding a rebreather to a Gorax to help it blend in with the faction).

I'm 35 and I'm as white as him. He's supposed to be a veteran, so I figured it was a good match. I like how it gives him a wise touch through all the violence that the Butchers represent. But it's true I could have gone a bit darker.

Thanks for that! I'm glad if it can provide inspiration.

And done! I'm really happy with how he turned out. Sadly need to take a pause to work on some commissions before I go back to the rest of the team, but I hope it's gonna be quick as I had a blast painting him.

I'm not sure about the brown rim on the base though. It's neutral and ties in well enough with the basing itself, but I wonder if a deep red would work better for Butchers. Might be harder to fit Union models later if I want them to tie in with more than one team...

I really like the idea of a deep red on the base rim (like the darker color on his shoulder). That would be sweet, and drive home the scheme a bit more while still allowing you to put less red on the model like you have here. You have a very nice set of colors on this mini, but if I am wishing for more of anything it would be red, and the base rim would provide that

What are the commissions??

After looking at it more, it's gonna stay brown. I like how they are not just red, that's it's just a touch, on a single accessory and then some blood splatter.

The commissions are the unpainted small ships from Star Wars Armada, a chibi model for a paint swap, and half a dozen more Arkadia Quest models. Luckily, I'm on parental leave for the next month, so I'll have a bit more time to paint, if the naps stays like they were with mom.

Swap model done! It's an chibi Medusa by Impact miniatures. I tried a winter themed limited palette, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out.

Now, it's SW Armada time

Very convincing medusa!! Chibi models are so intimidating because you really have to paint them well - you've certainly done that

Forgot to post those, but they were finished a couple weeks ago. They're from the wave 2 of FFG's Star Wars Armada.

Haven't posted in a while. I worked on a commission I can't post about yet for most of that time, but I finally worked on other stuff this week.

First, a little conversion commission for Hordes' Epic Borka. And the start of my own DZC Resistance army, all assembled, based and ready to paint.

Ah, it's just genius to convert Epic Borka - the head of his bear as a stock model was just terrible . I love what you've done with yours, though!!

DzC Reistance is quite cool Will you be painting them to match? It always bothers me how the studio scheme paints the tanks as pristine and the trucks as rusted out... I was planning on doing some DzC and was going to have them all rusted. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle them!

Oups, I wasn't clear, he's not done yet. The client wants more of a black bear head. I can't take too much credit, it's gonna be an almost exact copy of the one in that post on PP's forum:

I don't mind the official scheme that much, as even the military vehicles are patched up, but yeah, they could have had a heavier hand with the weathering. I'm really not sure how I want to go with mine. I won't go extreme, as I prefer the Allied theme to the Feral one, but I'll probably rust them up a bit more. It's the basic colour choice that's bugging me right now, not the fun weathering that goes after.

I was mostly out of the hobby for 3 months, all free time taken by a big project at work. But I'm finally free!

I got back into painting by working on a quick project, a couple stacks of crates and barrels to use as terrain for Guild Ball. They're from Micro Art Studio.

On the table, a gargantuan ice base, alternate Thagrosh for Hordes and finishing the chibi Marie-Claude I started in a workshop with Liz Beckley in January. More pictures to follow soon !

I've been working on a second huge sized ice base for WM/H. This time, it's for the LoE BlightBringer. I'm almost done with it, only the resin water remains to be poured.

The model itself has been painted by my fellow painter Yaum la Machine.

Finally back working on my Butchers. I've been playing with the primed models for too long now; the painted captain needs company.

Got some paint on Brisket, their striker. About halfway done I would guess. I'm keeping with toned down palette, with just some highlights of red.
