Thanks, its nice to have a comment. The mordhiem terrain is currently having a hiatus and i havent done any work on it for a while, but that was one thing i really wannted to build.
I can just imagine mordhiemers clambering over the sides of some great, rotting ship hulk, festooned in sea weed. Or perhaps a battle along the boardwalk, above the ocean. Or even gangs of smugglers. Or covert missions to burn and raze an enemies boat as it sits in anchor.
So much inspiration, so little time

I did try posting on yaktribe, but i dont really have enough time to post here, on the blog and on ammobunker.

Incredible models, gritty, creative, full of character, and just simply fantastic! They are all so great and eerie, I especially love the imperial crucifix. Very cool and very 40k. Another thing I want to applaud is your terrain. It seems so much like a character itself, which I've seen only on a few tables. Overall excellent work!

Lone dirty dog, cheers. I am rather happy with this building, i just hope i can finish it sometime. The search for that blue stuff has been an ongoing saga for me, as its not avalaible in New Zealand. Spent 3 months looking for some, I then found a whole lot in a mates grandfathers shed, up in the bush.

Tundrafrog1124: are you trying to chat me up

Rogue wolves: Thanks, the devils in the detail, that really is the most important part, it adds all the character. Just look at the work of Dave Andrews, or Neil 101.

Well, just a quick update, and a favour: is there any one out there who would care to make up an imperial poster for me, probably on photoshop. Could anyone who is interested PM me.

This is Lord Pontifex, Canus er Thrax, leader of the Ecclesiary and self imposed dictator of Thrax II.

Cheers Tundrafrog. Now, for some pictures of the painted board, or at least the semi painted. It still has a long way to go before i am finished. Next I am thinking of adding a coat to lighten the basic base, then shellac and water effects. If there is anyone who knows a cheap but good water effect could they please spill the beans. Also, if anyone has any inspirational photos of terrain i'd love a link as my hobby drive is in a slump at the moment.
So, for now a few teasers.

And i'd also like to thank Rogue Wolves and Bruticus for making me up some these posters, hopefully I can use some soon.

aand, some more
The boards as they now stand.
The sump water was made with:
shellac,
powdered dye,
pva, white wood varnish,
white paint washes
plaster dust
and a black spray paint coat when it was half dry.

Some photos i took with a macro lens while the water effects where drying.

Next will be to moving onto the actual terrain. Im thinking gothic ruins, twisted trees, slums , industrial wasteland, factories, an arbites barracks, all the good stuff.
So from now im looking for any inspirational images, and ill be collating them over on the blog.

If any one would like to see a particular terrain piece, or has a great photo, id love to see it.

Great update Grag!

Love the board so far, its great to see someone really almost sculpt the underhive out in terrine like this. I look forward to all the other structures you plan to erect.

I really love the wires running through the floor and the fact that the environment is almost organic an entirely man-made world

Rogue Wolves: Thanks, that's the look I was goin' for.
Aand some Mordhiem, some WiPs of the vampire hunting warrior priest and friends who will hopefully join Bruticus' Throne of Bones campaign, If he'll take them of course. The chap on the right has been ditched btw.

Dirt check, grit check, hazzard lines check apocalyptic devastation check work of art

Vampire hunters band are coming together nicely like the combination of armour and robes gives that look of monks forced into hunting roles, I think the head is better now the first choice made it look as though he had fallen to chaos IMHO.

When you say the guy on the right do you mean the guy with the shield as I kind of liked the pose, looks like he is trying protect the band from the demon host.

Jerp:Cheers mate.
PDH: NOOoo, what have I done, destroying something that PDH liked--I will spend the rest of my life in a monastery, carrying out penitence by rebuilding the head one grain of plastic at time.

Well, I have done some work on these chaps, but I've been stymied by a lost camera cord. So no photos until I find it.
To fill that void I found these rather wonderful images, that I think ooze potential for Necromunda. Apparently during the age of Enlightenment men would travel around the country with orreries, teaching the peasant folk the order of the Universe. Wouldnt it be great to have a Chaos type group like this, proving to a hive worlds inhabitants how the alignment of planets equates to the rise of greater Gods in the universe.

Any how, hopefully some photos soon.

Curious how you did the helmet. Cool to see how Judge Dredd you're making this fellow. Cute how they later on tried to move away from that design, but we all know that Arbites are just Judge Dredd but then in space (and even Judge Dredd had adventures in space).

Malika: Woah, dont go telling every one about the GW-Dredd conspiracy
Judge Dredd has been a big inspiration for these chappies. Ive got an old G.W copy of the Judge Dredd roleplaying game , so I plan to give that a go when I get a chance. Just need some ten and twelve sided dice.
Roguewolves:You can trust Jes Goodwin to design miniatures to perfection(just look at the Dark Eldar) . The old sculpts arent too bad, they just lack Dreddesque bad-assnesseses.

This makes it a bit clearer about what was sculpted and what was beyond my ability.

The mad flagellant Quintomme, who worships the aged relic of a sword which he carries as a holy sygil of Sigmar, put in his hands for safe keeping, and to allow him to smight deamons and unbelievers.
He wears the brown habit of a monk, and has a crude representation of the comet of Sigmar daubed upon his head. And a scarf of course(his ol' mum didn't want him to catch a cold )

He still needs his base painted(i'll paint it at the same time as the warrior priest's) and a healthy smattering of blood.

and some photos from during his painting. Iv'e been working on a slightly more artistly(I know, its not a word), rather than miniature painting method of painting(I could probably put that better) building up layers of bright colour, then washing and drybrushing them down. Here are some PiP photos form during that show what I'm talking about

and wet blending in white.

Another masterpiece the way he is grasping his sword ( that sounds wrong ) as though it is his very saviour is genius, I also love the comet on his forehead great idea and with the paint scheme really tells your story perfectly

Your painting style represents that dark gothic feel of the miniature amazingly well, also the candles on the base is a nice touch great stuff once again
