ML series 1-15 (Capt America, Toad, Hulk, Iron Man up until the BAF Apocalypse and Walmart specific Giant Man) all came with comics. The first Hasbro run that had Banshee and Ultimate Iron Man in it was the first wave without comics-the BAF Annihilus wave. And for shoddy plastic...compare Hasbro wave 2 Quicksilver against BAF Giant Man's Havoc figure: they're both the same mold for the entire body (except head), but Quicksilver's detail is incredibly soft, and feels cheap in hand-mixture of paint and plastic failure.

Sorry, not apocalypse: he was wave 14. Wave 15 was Mojo. There were still comics with the Mojo run, which was the final ToyBiz run.

Unfortunately, I can't compare them anymore, I tossed them all out for room.

I have a LOT of toys. I've got an entire bedroom filled with display shelves and there's still more boxes in my storeroom I need to go through a third time to decide on what to get rid of...

We have this discussion at least once a month, minimum. Cliffs notes of my usual comments:
Hasbro ruined Marvel Legends action figures, and Hasbro is responsible for all those crappy preprinted plastics (heroclix, D&D minis). If Hasbro gets GW, it'll be bad. You guys wanting it are still fools. Hasbro does cards fine. Keep them away from minis.

If that's still too long for some...Hasbro can suck it.

Hasbro doesn't own HeroClix, WizKids does. WizKids has zero connection to Wizards of the Coast. Aside from the early D&D Minis and their distribution method, Hasbro's prepaints are held in high regard throughout a large section of gamers. There were a LOT of people sad to see Star Wars Minis go away.

Also, it's your opinion Hasbro ruined Marvel Legends, and far from fact. I actually prefer the 3.5 inch series over the old ones and the Infinite series is on plate to over us an even better replacement(we're getting freaking DEATH'S HEAD).

Hasbro got rid of the comics, changed to an inferior plastic compound, had worse color mixture and increased the price. All of those actually ARE fact, not my opinion. A decrease of quality is always a negative. I don't care about the scale change, which came after all the changes I mentioned, and those aren't technically ML anyway, they're Marvel Universe, I believe. I actually LOVE the fact that they're GIJoe/SW scale. And those toys ARE of great quality. But the 6" inch ML that came about after ToyBiz stopped are absolute trash compared to their predecessors-again, all the reasons I listed are actual fact, and not opinion.

Why do you (or anyone else, for that matter) think that if Hasbro (or anyone else) purchased GW (including all of their existing production capacity) would Hasbro suddenly ditch GW's existing production sites and convert everything to a totally different manufacturing method?

I'd always hoped some of the old GW management would try and buy it back, like Bryan Ansell, or some conglomerate of folk like Rick Priestly but I suspect they're all just happy to have moved on.

This is about as close to the old GW as you will get but would need one other thing, a Private individual with a huge sum of money behind him/her.

Bandai/Hasbro/AN Other all have clout but don't have any retail management experience, indeed very few businesses do these days outside of big chains. Anyone that wants a "big business" approach to GW should open their eyes - that's what you are already getting. Any organisation that sinks £200M+ into GW will want a return to cover any financing, so + prices - costs. Sound familiar? I also can't imagine anything more bland than a Hasbro Warhammer universe shorn as I guess it would be of any hint of sex and possibly the more disturbing aspects of Chaos.

So that leaves a Wealthy Individual that can bank roll risks like trying to mainstream Specialist Games again. This may not be perfect as an individual like that will have their own bias' - how funny if they loved Squats but Squatted SoBs!

I call BS on the claim that the big companies don't have retail management experience. For one, they don't need it because they have awesome relationships with independent retailers. Secondly, Hasbro has some level of experience directly or indirectly through the WotC store debacle in the early 2000s. At minimum, they know how hobby type materials should be sold to customers.

Recouping the losses isn't that big a deal because

1) They get a certain amount of capital from the assets GW currently owns. These can be liquidated if need be or repurposed.
2) They can cut costs GW is unable or unwilling to cut. Legal, HR, some level of accounting and levels of middle and upper management can go completely away because they are redundant to what they currently have. They can also close their online webstore and their brick and mortar stores, reducing all the associated overhead.
3) They can license the IP to make quick money while they figure out what to do with the current lines.
4) It's not like production is going to immediately stop. Manufacturing will still show up on Monday to make sprues, the GW logo will still be on it. It will just have an additional logo as well.

As far as Hasbro being G rated. Look at the magic cards below:

They're pretty grim dark. I also seem to remember that GW has clothed their models as well, so I think your still grinding an old worn out axe about Demonettes.
