Latest WiP of the Draconid Royal Guard:

Hitting all the right buttons for me.

This figure looks like it would be pretty easy to swap his weapon out once he's all done, depending I guess on how many pieces he ends up being molded out of.

Mine may end up getting some ancient/ ether tech from my bits box.

Came home tonight from playing Zombicide to find a nice treat for me, a box with my DeepWars softcover rulebook, Ancients of Atlan and Deep Mariners Warbands, and for other figures Alahal the Immortal, Thulaja, Chimalma, and Koth-Yan. Plus the appropriate cards and play aids. Lithiana and the painting guide will be shipped separately. All is good.

Sculpting Update

Here is a quick shot of the WIP sculpts for the next two Draconids, Kathkusa the Draconid Sage and the Ridgeback Lizardman Spinebreaker. They are coming along nicely so far, with the focus on getting nice skin texture. In general, draconids have more natural armor plates than lizardmen, so that is something that will change these over the next sculpting sessions.

The new Lizardmen & Draconids sculpted to date are fine work, but I want to start playing soon, thus I opted for in production product. Also, Koth-Yan reminds me of the "elephant god" from the Conan short story, "The Tower of the Elephant", and I've had my eye on him for a while.

New Sculpts for the New Year

It has been a while, and I apologize. Real life came into play a bit, delaying sculpting, but I was finally able to finish two more from the Draconid starter set. Now onto the Cannon Master and his little helper.

first is Kathkusa, the Draconid Sage. I decided to make the mask removable to give players options.

Next up is the Ridgeback Lizardman Spine Breaker, a Leader model.

That should be enough to get everyone's inner Highlord Highlordin'!

Hi all,

Hope you are having a nice 2015 so far. Progress is being made in casting up the finished sculpts, and we now have resin masters of them done. They just need casting in metal now. Also, the Dragon Cannon is really coming along, needing the "dragony" bits added now that the cannon and carriage is done. After that the Draconid Cannon Master should go pretty quickly.

Kalath armor complete

Kalath is taking a long time but this is one detailed model. The armor is done on Kalath himself and next comes the base and some edits here and there. A couple of shots are without the wings to show the detail on the back.

They're practically in the same pose even, all busy highlording it up.

Can't wait to actually get that figure.

Ain't even a lizardman. Dude's a straight up dragon man, a step up from the lizards.

Is that it? Glaurond the Black didn't get produced, right? I know we saw the Harlequin lizard way back when, not sure about the Cochi or the Draconid Scout.

Beat Alpharius to the punch and get to post the finished Kalath.

Mount is 150mm from horn tips to tail. Kalath (the rider) is 50mm from head to toe.

Big model is big. Will definitely make a nice centerpiece model for any Shadowsea game or Reptile army.

With the new Kings of War lizard lists coming out, I'm sure he'll be making an appearance in my new lizard lists. That's going to be a large army size- wise!

Kalath done and going to casting

Here is the completed Kalath the Reaver model for the Draconid Legion of the ShadowSea game. This is a massive model, with the pentasaurus mount 150 mm from end of tail to snout and Kalath himself 50 mm from foot to top of head. The model kit is going to casting soon. In terms of rewards, right now we are getting the castings of the fungal patch and explosive pods in the next two weeks. Kalath will be another couple of weeks to start casting but I hope to get the caster moving quickly. That leaves Albaxus Flametongue, which is supposed to be finished by the end of this month and then sent to casting, and the Jade Salamander, which I need to sculpt quickly now that Kalath is done. Kalath was a massive project, and the Salamander will go more quickly.

The status of the Stretch goals is now:

Kalath The Reaver - sculpting done, sending to casting

albaxus Flametongue - sculpting almost done, 2 weeks more

Draconid Scout - done, getting in hand in 2 days

Jade Salamander - sculpting (2-3 weeks needed)

Harlequin Lizardman Burglar - done, getting in hand in 2 days

Cochi Dark-Eye - almost done sculpting - waiting on sculptor to ship

Treasure Markers (3) - done

Crystal Outcropping - done

Fungal Patch - casting, ready in 2 weeks

Explosive Fungal Pods - casting, ready in 2 weeks

Painting Guide - done and printed

Rewards with the completed items will be shipped out as soon as they are ready. Many backers had the fungal patch and pods, so those were the last terrain item needed. The Draconid scout and Harlequin are ready. Many backers have Kalath though, so hopefully they can wait just a bit longer. I think the model came out pretty well.

I'll probably be getting a fungal patch of two. The mushrooms turned out very nice. Good terrain for Fighting Fungi as well as Shadowsea (obviously).

Most of it *WAS* done. A while ago. The draconid legion starter, the purpose of the campaign, shipped ages ago. It's all those stretch goals that pushed this project out. I'm totally getting some shrooms as well. Maybe some frogs and salamanders while I'm at it.
