FFG was never giving everything to everyone, but rather giving something that a vast majority of casual gamers wanted.

And just because they do that, doesn't mean hobby games are going away, they're all still here, so go play those. if you prefer them.

You can still do plenty of hobby stuff to xwing stuff, as evidenced by all the many cool repaints and conversions.

From a personal POV they seem to be giving gamer's what they want, (supply & demand is still an issue though)

Are they really giving us what players want? How about I want to paint my and make my minis? They are already done. It would be nice to do some work and take pride in that part.

Also where is my Battlestar Galactica min game?

I wouldn't say FFG is giving everything what people want. It's just that so much people are not getting what they want from GW that it seems FFG is giving people what they want. I know a lot of people on the internet want massive games with lots of miniatures. FFG is not doing that.

I think what FFG is giving people is Good Quality Work and SUPPORT that GW is not giving. Clear concise rules. (yes I know every games has rules problems but FFG seems to take care of it better) and the quality of they minis we feel we are getting great value for compared to GW.

Will FFG dodge into the 10 or more factions with lots of units? Will they give us big pieces that we want? Lots of people want a great Mech game. FFG is not doing that. Yes they are others that do it, but FFG is not doing it. FFG is great at giving out good small scale games. Do they do anything in large scale or many mini games? Lots of people want that as well.

All I am trying to say is FFG is not giving what people want. They are doing what will make FFG the most money for them, but in return give out a great product and respects their customers. They are no "White Knight" and GW is not "the Evil Empire" they just do things differently.

I should correct that. FFG is giving people some of the things they want, but not EVERYTHING they want, as from what the intent was given.

Yeah, that seem to be YOUR issue. But, really has nothing to do with FFG and the products they put out.

What do you mean my issue? I don't have an issue. All I am said was FFG doesn't give everything to everyone as was mentioned earlier.

Really? You had make this post about the obvious? It's not about FFG getting it right for everybody, it's about them getting it right in general. Just because they aren't pushing your buttons doesn't invalidate my comment.

Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Like the old saying says you can't please all the people all the time.

My painting time is limited and between 15mm WW2, WFB, and Bolt Action and I've already got quite the backlog.

What I love about X-Wing is that it's a relatively simple system to learn with just one small rulebook, where I can play with all new toys straight out of their boxes (which actually makes me more likely to purchase stuff casually) and I don't even have to worry about purchasing and storing much additional terrain.

So yes they are giving me what I wan't. A fun game with non of the worries and long prep time that normally go with getting into a new system. At one point I was dead again pre-paints. It's X-Wing that's completely turned me round on the idea.

Kirasu: Have we fallen so far that we are excited that GW is giving us the opportunity to spend 58$ for JUST the rules? Surprised it's not "Dataslate: Assault Phase"

AlexHolker: "The power loader is a forklift. The public doesn't complain about a forklift not having frontal armour protecting the crew compartment because the only enemy it is designed to face is the OHSA violation."

I wasn't trying to invalidate your comment. This being the internet, I failed what I tried to mean. It was late and I wasn't feeling good when I meant that comment. Lets forget about? I screwed up as usual and didn't come out the way I made it.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Given the pissing and moaning about pre-painted miniatures in previous eras of DakkaDakka -- a danger that it was thought had passed with the failure of AT-43 -- it is not surprising to find there are people who don't like X-Wing.

Fortunately though you can buy model kits of most of the spaceships from companies like Finemolds and Revell, and the Star Wars: Star Warriors rules are still available through BoardGameGeek I believe so it is easy to make a game without resort to FFG.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Them being painted doesn't stop you from painting them yourself, you see a lot of repaints for x-wing (I subbed to the subreddit), not sure if they strip or just paint over. Also recall seeing a Wargames Consortium video for "touching up" the repaints. I really like them being prepainted tbh.
