Draigo died to overwatch, failing two 2+ armor saves in a row against snap firing bolters

I had a single War Walker, who was immobilized take out a Daemon Prince.

The Prince had already lost a wound. I did one in overwatch, and for the next 4 player turns, I made every 5++ save I needed to. The walker plinked away a few wounds, leaving the Prince with one remaining.

In my opponents turn, the warp storm table hits the walker, it explodes and take the final wound off the prince when it goes out.

Daemon Prince with AoBF charges my blob of guardsmen of which Commissar Yarrick was attached to them. Yarrick challenged the Daemon Prince who then accepted. The daemon prince with AoBF had charged that turn so we were both expecting a silly amount of attacks, but the prince rolled a 1 and ended up losing a wound. The following turn when that combat continued, the prince rolled another 1 and took yet another wound. All Yarrick had to do was just stand there and laugh his ass of whilst the Prince with AoBF pretty much killed himself. In the end Yarrick finished the prince off with his Klaw. Yarrick's luck eventually ran out when he tried taking on a Bloodthirster after that, but he certainly died a hero by keeping a Daemon Prince and a Bloodthirster at bay so the rest of my army could survive until the end of the game and just about win.


In regards to my own units, pretty much every time I field my Sanguinary Guard they die a ludicrous death. Plasma and AoBF the primary reasons.

Oh and Mephiston died in shame to a single chaos terminator with lightning claws. Rolled 1's either every save or every other save and my opponent just kept rolling 2's or more every time I hit his model. It was really frustrating, all I had to do was roll 2 or more, but just kept rolling 1's...

5th Edition Necron codex, My Command Barge overlord took a wound from a melta gun in overwatch, then proceeded to get beat to death by Stealthsuits before he could swing. He did not reanimate, as he was too embarrassed.

A more recent game, 2 Tomb Blades hold off Shadowsun and a squad of Crisis cuits with drones. Next turn they then win combat by 1 and sweep the whole unit, slay the warlord.

Saw a friend's Riptide get Tank Shocked off of the board by a Hellhound.

Swarmlord turned into a Herald of Khorne due to a Warpstorm event.

Had a flyrant kill all but the sergeant of a tactical squad. In response, the sergeant shot, wounded, grounded and killed him. Good stuff!

Nids vs Ultramarines.

Battle was heavily one-sided with Tiggy, a Tac squad and Dev squad all running off the table in the very first shooting phase.

Ahem, sorry. Other Dev squad (down to a missile launcher and Sarge) charge my 30 Gargoyles. After Overwatch, all that was left was the Missile Marine, who (with some help from my Biovores) proceeded to wipe out most of the Gargoyles.

This guy has some crazy luck with Dev Marines in melee.

Had my ws1 riptide charged by a demon prince. They were locked in battle for 3 turns. My friend calls out, why don't you try a smash attack?

Roll to wound, 6,
Demon prince rolls a 2 for his invul save

Splat goes the Demon. The chaos players face... priceless.

I've had a small unit of termagaunts kill a chaos lord on a juggernaut once - he was camping on the other side of a Rhino pushed up against a wall to provide cover but my termagaunts could see through the small gap and shot at him. I'm not sure if he had any wounds on him prior but they shot, wounded and he failed the rest of his saves. We both were fairly surprised.

I've also had a maulerfiend charge up a tower at my riptide only to get tagged in overwatch by a melta gun and smashed and exploded before he could attack.

Another time that was pretty surprising happened when I was playing my Nids against Grey Knights and some purifiers caught a full-health Hive Crone in the air with Cleansing Flame and destroyed it.

I've made this mistake myself with my Kastelans, which did turn out to be fealess but not because they are MCs, GCs however are fearless.

A C'Tan shard of the nightbringer assaults my two Deathwing Terminators. I overwatch their two storm bolters, getting 4 hits, 4 wounds. He promptly failed his 4+ saves.

My Commander Farsight assauls and kills in close combat Lord Kaldor Draigo. The look on my opponents face when that happened, priceless.

i once had 20 marines (horus heresy) overwatched to death by 14 or boys with shootas... it was stupid

I took part in a 3 v 3 "apoc" game (escalation fluff tourney, from the shield of baal campaign, 6000 points per side) I saw a 10 man squad of krieg guardsmen hold a mawlock for 2 turns, and kill it with the 1 remaining guardsman there. I also had a land raider require 5 terminators, a knight, murderfang, and a S: D blast to kill. finally, the 3rd silliest thing to happen in this tournament match, I had a 10 man squad punch a mecharius to death, eat the massive explosion, and then a round and a half of S: 10 and S: D shooting, only to have the last one shot to death by Kriegers.

Ork war boss with a power klaw attempts to charge my 10 man guardsman line and is poked to death by bayonets before even getting a swing in.

A cultist (out of the three left in a squad) in a squad that broke after being charged by a squad of Ravenwing bikers, managed to regroup and kill one by snap shooting.

I had a whole squad of Thousand Sons wiped out by a single, very painful mortar shot. This is after surviving a full salvo from a Leman Russ Executioner with Plasma Cannon sponsons with a single casualty, mind you. (Although my TS have a habit of walking off huge amounts of plasma/melta shots then dying to stray bolt shots)

I've also had a daemon prince lose two wounds and die to a squad of guardsmen overwatching

I had a 5man Blacknight Command Squad (with last codex) that shoot in rapid fire with their plasma Talon. Roll with different color to separate who fail/success.

I lost my Banner (Devastastion Banner at that time, 105points model) and my Apothecary (maybe 70pts, but not 100%).

That was the worst shooting of my whole life.

In 5th, Guard Commander killed a Monolith with a meltabomb. It was like 3 separate rolls that required a 6 or something. We all died laughing imagining that heroic throw.

Just the other day:

A single pink horror comes out of the Portaglyph.
I cast Flickering fire at an Eldar Wraithfighter (some forgeworld one?) with 2 dice. Both 6's. Perils and get result 6 - Go Beast Mode.
I roll 2D6 and get 12 shots.
Get only 1 hit.
Opponent rolls a 1 for his 2+ jink save.
Roll a 6 to penetrate.
Roll a 6 on the damage table - immobilised.
Roll a 1 on immobilised - flyer crashes and burns.



I then get cocky and waste psychic 12 dice trying to replicate the feat on his other flyer, and fail to get even one hit.

Or was it Marbo? He's so sneaky he's not even in the Codex anymore, but he still pops up from time to time...

In 7th ed two of my 10 man cultist squad shot to death two grey nights terminators (I think their called Paladins ) using their auto pistols in the shooting phase

And he rolled two ones

I was playing a dark eldar player back in 6th. His archon with shadow field broke off to kill two tactical marines hanging out in an objective.

I get lucky and hit and wound three times in the overwatch with the two boltguns. The archon fails his first 2+ save and then proceeds to die without an armour save.

6th Ed. Sisters of Battle vs Eldar. Lone standard SoB Vet Superior (a Vet Sgt for those unfamiler) with a power sword. Get's charged by Avatar of Cain who was down by 1 wound already, so 3 left. I do 1 wound on over watch, he fails to kill her either missing or me making my 6+ Shield of faith invul. I then procced to get's to hit, then to wound, and he gets to Save. I painted her sword to look molten like Cain after that and gave her a name.

i killed my "friends" 2 titans with some deepstriking suicide melta vets! : }...
i also have had my angron and some berserkers charge 50 conscripts and a commisar sitting on an objective. i was then soundly beaten to death until just karn and anrgon were left. i challenged his commisar and took 3 wound failing to do any to him. kharn got killed by 30 conscripts. that squad held up angron for the rest of the game (4 turns!) and ultimatley won the game because of it... my friend has used them in almost evry game since then and they has never been completely wiped out.

My friend's dark angels army immobilised my imperial guard melta vets chimera so they had to disembark. The vets got very badly shot up and the lone survivor made a hasty retreat, I used a "get back in the fight! " on him and he was able to go back to the chimera wreck and get a lucky shot at my friend's character, killing him instantly.

I once had my 5 dominions assaulted by sammael on bike with black knights. I got to seize and took out half the squad, then I got assaulted and manged to take out 2 more with overwatch and then somehow managed to survive on a 6++ until both sammael and the rest was dead. And I still had two or three dominions left by the end.

That game was weird though, as I also managed to put enough wounds into tactical squad with just a basic 10 man sister squad to cause them to route of the board, before they got to do anything.

One time my Farsight was charged by Typhus.

So I roll for Overwatch and Farsight hits with both shots and then both wound, managing to get through the 5++ and FNP.

Then comes the actual close combat. Farsights attacks bounce off thanks to that invulnerable save and FNP and then comes Typhus' turn to hit back. An AP2, poisoned, Force, daemon weapon.

He promptly hits himself in the face and dies, with the rest of his attacks missing.

Good times.

I had decided to be a jerk and bust out my 3 squads of 3 Rapier Weapons Batteries with Cyclotrathe Conversion Beamers, having 9 on the board. My Sorc warlord rolled for Perfect Timing and got it (Hurray!) had 9 Large Blast str10 AP1 and 3 of them Ignored Cover due to Perfect Timing.

My opponent conceded his first turn after I reduced his army to Smouldering Metal Boxes.

Back in second edition my Warbuggy, which had multi meltas back then, missed it's target, scattered and killed ghazgkhull

6th ed.

Kharn charges and successfully swats a hovering Stormtalon out of the sky.

It was honestly the worst tactical decision I could have made, but by far the most awesome.
