what is a competitive Eldar list?
Almost anything, really. If you want to almost always auto-win, make use of the wraithknight. Automatically Appended Next Post: Dinges643 wrote:
please don't comment how broken they are, that point has been made.
I just want to get an idea of which models are the best choice.
I sympathise with ya, but those two things are mutually exclusive.

Seriously, when Dman comes out with "Eldar aren't OP" it just reminds me of the classic "Leave Britney alone!" video.
OT, there really aren't a lot of bad Eldar units. I'd take what looks fun to you, but if you cut out a lot of the bikes, some of the formations, a WK, and take less than 3 Wave Serpents, most people won't see that a cheese-tastic list.

You could write a book on cognitive dissonance and the dunning kruger effect entirely on this thread.
Dman isn't saying Eldar aren't OP, he is saying you goobs need to get over it and start adapting instead of crying like little bitches.
OP, most of these people are goobs, and if you don't know what that is, it is when a person becomes a perpetual noob, essentially a moldy shirt with little hope of recovery. Here's a graph explaining the dunning kruger effect:
They are the at the peak of Mt Stupid and will never move on until they adapt, learn and unlearn all their terrible habits and programming.
They consistently comment on threads about eldar claiming they are unbeatable and anyone playing as them should feel bad, its a constant compulsion to do so to essentially "scab over" the feeling of sucking at something. They will ague good sense and advice to make sure nothing challenges their status on mt stupid. All this is because change is hard and painful and they'd rather convince themselves that they aren't doing anything wrong then move on and grow.
Ive been playing 40k for nearly 25 years, with eldar as my primary, across all over North America in many tournaments. At a competitive level, wraithknights are bad, I have a marine army that can kill 3 consistently in 1 turn. Scatbikes are amazing but the meta is shifting to include lots of deployment options and ignores cover. Your best bet is learn, unlearn and adapt as you go, try new tactics and never stagnate, otherwise you slip into the bog that is goobdom.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

Insulting people never makes people change their views, it just entrenches them. It also makes you not worth conversing with.

Oh look, it's Dman's other account :O
This is the one where he writes semi-constructive arguments instead of sticking to Ad Hominem. Oh wait.
