Amazing stuff! Really love me some Oldhammer. One question though, do you paint straight over the metal? No primer? Anyway, subscribed!

Love 'em. Those old dwarfs have such personality and you painting is really bringing it out. Can't wait to see more (and those to be re-painted Blood Angels)

I frequently read your blog and your Oldenhammer Forum posts and you building and painting these miniatures is a joy to watch, kudos for the vibrant colour scheme on the Dwarves.

Mad Mullah Acklan'd's Death Commandos (aka Tony Ackland's Terror Squad)
I like how they put their historical miniatures into Warhammer and how it evolved into its own world later based on that.
Many old minis are available again through Foundry, not these though. They are nice.

Yup, 100% peanut butter and jealous of you Piers.

Spent tonight sorting out the Squats again due to a few new arrivals...
Given them Stumpy the Dreadnought with pilot and mechanic, four squads of 7 Squats with a special weapon and squad leader in each and a 7 Squat command team complete with heavy bolter.
They got the Dread to boost their heavy support and as I have some other bits to replace in the Guard faction. So expect to see more new arrivals very soon...

Well the Crossbows took a while...
Still finally everything is done other than the beards and flesh (and a ton of shields). Also made the unit Thrall a bit funkier... He got some bling.

The dwarfs are coming along nicely.
How are you going to do the beards? There's a lot of them, so I'm wondering how much effort you plan on putting into highlighting them etc...

Excellent work as ever Peirs.
Who knew one of 20mm's greatest proponents had such a sordid secret 28mm problem!
Heart warming to see all these classic models get the Big P treatment. You have some really nice rare (and valuable!) minis there.
I've been planning to do something similar to this myself but yet to find the time while I paint my warmaster tomb kings.
Keep it up, this must be finished!

Makes sense. The reason I ask is because you can really go to town on hair with shading and highlights, especially if doing blonde hair.
Makes send that what you plan to do, as otherwise you'd be painting beards until the end of your days...
Can't wait to see what you do with the genestealer cultists.

Dunno what to do with the Genestealer Cultists frankly...
They aint the easiest figures to pick, and are blooming expensive compared to others. The Magus was a bit of a treat, and like most of my figures, came by way of a trade... and I grabbed the Hybrids in the same deal.
Thing is, expanding it will cost. But I really like them...
As all my RT stuff will be done in order to do lots of different scenarios, Im thinking the Hybrids can add in too the Mercs and Pirates to turn them in a Stealer Coven when I fancy it... Add in a couple of full on stealers and its all good... The Magus will be doing double duty as my Rogue Traders Navigator or Psyker anyway for a while.

Bases and shields left...
Princess Brunhilda de Walt, seen stood between her husband, Baron Philip de Walt and her bodyguard Krupp.
Brunhilda is the sister of the three Bosch brothers, and has attained some notoriety for her choice of husband. Rather than marrying within the circles chosen for her by her father and brothers, she chose to marry an outsider, a Dwarf from the Empire - Baron de Walt. While regarded as rather foppish and outlandish by the Bosch clan, he has proved his worth on the battlefield, both in personal feats of arms and also by bringing his personal retinue of Thunderers and cannon, known as 'Philips Revenge', on campaign with the Army of Bosch. Even the three Bosch brothers have begrudgingly admitted his worth.
Brunhilda herself is always seen in the thick of the action, much to the chagrin of her brothers, and her bodyguard Krupp, a Dwarf from Kislev, never leaves her side. She carries 'Ragnok', a sword gifted to her by her maternal Grandfather and a weapon of some repute with which she slew the Orc Warlord Zagnut Grilz in single combat while defending the wounded Krupp. Krupp is intensely loyal, and with him and Baron de Walt at her side in battle, the trio form a formidable fighting force in the front rank of their spear armed regiment.
