I play Skorne but I think I'm gonna start a circle army with that new warlock, I've always liked them but only really liked the Moshar lock model but with the new one I feel like I won't get bored. And I love the Troll guy on the bear. When is Exigence out???

I would presume October seeing as it's just gone up on the site. PP puts stuff up around 3 months in advance or release.

That Circle Lock is supposedly a little restrictive. Apparently he can only have Wolds in his battlegroup.

Restricted to Wolds is a side effect of him having Synergy. Can you imagine how broken that spell would be in a faction with warp wolves/griffins/argus?

What does synergy do that would be so broken?

Pretty much. Then warping for strength too, for a cumulative +8 or 9 on damage.

The full rules no. We do know he can only take wolds and the spell Synergy. Beyond that we don't know yet.

Well, we know there is a Warlock in Exigence that can do those things. An educated guess says it's this guy. Then again there's not really been any news regarding more than one Warlock per faction in the book either.

I believe they said at Templecon there was only one Warlock per non-Minions faction.

If they do that then they are breaking the mold a bit, since Legion and Skorne have already had epic warlocks spoiled while Circle has a brand new one. Its certainly possible, but it 'feels' weird (it also breaks their 'release more Hordes options so that they catch up to WM' pattern).

Not reallly. Retribution just got a new caster, while all others got epic casters

Retribution isn't one of the 4 original factions of WM so not only has less prime casters that could go epic in the first place but also has less story development behind it so there isn't much scope for another of its casters to go epic at this time.

None of those constraints apply to any of the factions in Exigence so there is no reason for the factions to be treated differently from each other (which is not the same as saying that PP will not do it, only that there is less reasons for them to do it).

I think it's more a case that Retribution as a faction gains more from new concepts than from variations on existing concepts whereas the older factions have less room for new casters.

They already "broke the mold". They stated before Gargantuans came out(and we saw that some people were getting 2's rather than 3's) that they weren't going to be keeping things "even" and that they'd start doing things like mixes of Epics and new in later books, starting with the Vengeance cycle of releases where Cygnar and Cryx got 2 Warcasters vs every other faction's one.

Also, there has never been a pattern of Hordes gets more to catch up. They stated that Gargantuans would have more for that reason, but they also stated that they'd be even again afterwards.

There hasn't really ever been a trend of Hordes betting more releases than WM save in the last couple books. Warmachine actually got more entires than Hordes between Wrath and Domination. Colossals was a weirdly short book inherently due to production stuff I think, with a lot of stuff in Vengenace spread out between the two. Gargantuans is actually only bigger than two WM books in MkII with terms fo new stuff I believe.

And save for the KS stuff with Sturgis, no Faction has gotten more than a single new warlock or warcaster since Domination, and that was the only book this edition to have a new caster of any sort (Epic or not).

And stuff.

Honestly, I think the fluff is what drives them making any new characters/units.

Character X has something really awesome/bad happen to them, maybe character goes Epic!

I was quite hoping for a Mohsar Epic version. My favorite Warlock, I play him pretty religiously even though he can be a bit niche.

On topic, anyone have Bradigus spoilers? I'm fair certain he's the Wolds only 'Lock, though personally I was HOPING that was a false rumor...I hate losing options. I'd rather see him lose synergy than be locked in to Wolds.

Either way, I think whatever the next release is, if Exigence doesn't have it, guarantees either a Mohsar, Cassius, or Kromac epic version, and my vote is on Mohsar

Mohsar is the least likely, IMO. He has had little character progression, usually necessary for a large change. Cassius and Kromac are much more likely, though Grayle could also be coming down the pipeline.

Well, I was thinking Mohsar partly because I'm a Mohsar Fanboi, and partly because the whol Exigence "theme" is the unfolding of each factions plans and agendas. Mohsar has a very, admittedly guarded, grand scheme, and this would be a good time to show some of what he's been doing in the background.

But, it's mostly fanboi'ing.

Most characters who go Epic tend to have played a major part in the story or had something happen to them.

Kromac was the last Circle 'lock who had something big happen(big tangle with Borka) while Mohsars just been derping around mostly.

Anyway, Bradigus will probably be pretty good. Synergy would actually be OP if he had access to Wolves, but its perfect for the pillow fisted Wolds.

You could realistically have a Stalker hitting at a total P+S of 27ish with an equally ridiculous Mat.

With Stones in the picture no way in hell were they doing that to Wolves.
