Howdy folks!

I thought it would be best to set up a new thread for news announcements. Most of the general chatter will still happen down in the Gangfight Games forums. Our first big announcement is we just launched our brand new website / online store!

http://store.gangfightgames.com

This store is currently being used as the Mechadrome pledge manager, but it will still work as a normal store where you can pre-order the models if you didn't get in on the recent Kickstarter. Our models are expected to be produced in September, so all orders placed by August 31st will be able to get in on the first batch, which is expected to ship out to backers and customers in or hopefully before December. We'll be ordering extra stock, but just to be safe you should try to get your order in by then.

I'm also expecting to start adding all of the Blackwater Gulch models here too, I just need the OK from Game Salute since they're the publisher.

Going forward, in the next month or so I'm hoping to start sculpting our next new mech, the Bionic light mech. When that's done we plan to release that as a "Wave 2" that will include the light bionic and the free agent Trion. That should happen early next year. I'm also hoping to start doing some new Blackwater Gulch sculpts soon too.

That's all for now! I'll post new pictures of the painted mechs as we get them done

GenCon is next week! Will you be there? There will be demo games going on in the Game Salute gaming area Friday from 1 - 5 PM, in 2 2-hour sessions, and Saturday from 10 AM - 2 PM, also in 2 2-hour sessions. There is only room for 4 players per session since space is limited. You can sign up in advance, but there may be space for walk-ups too, but those who sign up get first dibs.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR BLACKWATER GULCH?

Now that all of our miniatures are available, it's time to get started on the next phase!

What we hope to do next is put together an all-in-one boxed game with all new miniatures and a whole lot more. And, of course, we hope to keep adding new characters to the current gangs and make all new gangs too. I'm just starting to plan the game out, and could use your help! Click here to read the recent forum post that has more info on the boxed game and feel free to chime in with any thoughts or ideas. As we start developing more fully I'll also be using that same post to show off new art and other things as we get them. Don't be shy, pilgrim!

TEAM BUSHIDO PREVIEWS

I just finished painting all of the Mechs for Team Bushido. Click Here for the Kickstarter Pledge Manager Store to check out better photos of individual Mechs. Team Bushido and all other Mechs are still available to pre-order at the discounted Kickstarter prices until the end of the month.

I expect to have the Terran Titans all painted up in the next few days and I'll be posting them on the usual news sites when they're done. After everything is painted up I'll be finishing the rulebook and will be posting the final free PDF rules probably in September.

Latest Mechadrome Update:

Happy to say I've finished painting all of the models for the initial release and now I can get the printed items done. I saved Overkill for last, here's his bio:

Overkill is a true veteran of the Arenas, and beyond. He still pilots the same Mech he served in back when he was a Squad Leader for the Terran Confederation, even keeping the same paint scheme and squad markings from his last campaign on the desert world of Alurzia. Now the former war hero fights for glory, and whatever team will pay him the most.

You can also check him out on the Online Store here.

Next up, the layout of the Pilot Cards changed a bit. I decided to remove the list of upgrades from the front of the card, and just list them with their rules on the back. I wanted to have enough room on the front for the vital info and a nice sized picture. So here is what the cards will look like now. I'm hoping to have them all done by next week.

That's all for now. Hoping to have the Pilot Cards all finished next week, and then the Arena Cards will come next.

More to come!

The Mechadrome Pilot Cards are 99.9% finished. There's a few positioning tweaks that still need to be done, but several people have been waiting for them to see which Mechs they want to order, so here they are! This is one big file with all of the cards:

http://www.gangfightgames.com/content/pdf/all-pilot-cards.pdf

We'll be sending them out to get printed soon after a proofread, and getting started with the Arena Cards next. For the Arena Cards, those an an optional part of the game. Before each turn, both players draw a card and it will give you special objectives or achievements to complete for extra points, or give you special upgrades & powerups you can apply to your Mechs. We've decided to bump them up to a standard 52-card deck instead of the original 36 cards, but we'll mostly just be adding extra copies of some of the same cards, so some cards might be more rare than others. There will be 2-3 copies of each objective, but usually just 1 copy of each upgrade or powerup.

When they're released, each retail starter set will include a bonus Arena Card with a special ability that applies to that team for 1 turn. Team Bushido will get the Mechjitsu ability, where all Bushido pilots get +1D6 to hit in melee for that turn. Terran Titans will get the Firing Squad ability that gives all Titans a +1D6 to hit for ranged attachs that turn. Since these 2 cards are something new that wasn't originally planned, we're going to include 1 copy of each for all orders in the Pledge Manager Online Store. Going forward, we're planning to do other special Arena Cards for new teams and as promotional items for cons we visit or official tournaments we host, etc. Those would be available free while supplies last, or if you miss the event you could still order them online later if you want to collect them all

Our Kickstarter campaign went very well, and our Pledge Manager has been online for the last few weeks. The Pledge Manager is open to all who would like to preorder our Mechs, but since we have to get our quantities over the manufacturer next week, ALL orders must be placed by August 31st if you would like to get in on our first production run and get your models along with all of the Kickstarter backers. The retail release for the game will not be until some time next year.

Please visit our Pledge Manager Online Store at http://www.gangfightgames.com/ to order! All US orders over $100 ship for free, and all foreign orders over $100 can save $10 on international shipping if you use the coupon code ROWSHIP when you check out!

Thanks again to everyone who made our campaign a success!

So, all of the Mechadrome parts will be delivered tomorrow! That means I hope to start shipping some orders next week. It will take a little while to pack up all of the different minis, get the cards organized, etc.

The only orders that will be delayed slightly are the ones that get rulebooks. I had issues with the printer, but my new proof is on the way now and if that's all good it will take about 2 weeks to get the books printed and sent. So I'll be getting the orders that didn't include books all sent out first, and the orders with books will get sent as soon as the books come in.

I was planning to have everything shipped by the end of December. Looks like I'll be shipping around 2 months early A Kickstarter that delivers stuff early? Madness!

So on that note, I have decided to keep the "kickstarter prices" for all of the models for the time being, until all of the orders are sent. So now is the last chance to get in on the discounted prices. Visit our site at www.gangfightgames.com to order

There are many uses for these mechs 40K was a strong influence just because I've been playing it for 25 years. As we go we'll be doing all sorts of mechs, like martian walkers, bionic mechs that are more snake-like, and others that are more inspired by Anime styles. In time we hope to have something for everyone

In other news, the shipment just arrived! Going to take a while to sort everything. Here's a quick pic of some of the bits!

My order is "awaiting pickup". Sounds promising

Yours should be marked as shipped now Anything marked Awaiting Shipment means I packed it but I'm waiting for the rulebooks, and Awaiting Pickup means I packed it up but haven't sent it yet

What I decided to do now is just pack up each order in the order it was received in the pledge manager store. At first I was going to put together each and every mech, then do all of the shipping.. but there's a bunch that have custom mechs so I think it will be easier to just do each order 1 at a time and gather up all the bits at once. So I'll plan to send out 5 or 6 orders a day and a few more on weekends till we're all done. it'll take a couple of weeks to do them all, but we have to wait a couple of weeks for the books anyway... so this way I can get the ones without books all sent ahead of time.

So far about 15 shipped, another 15 packed and waiting for rulebooks, 35 or so still on deck.

The first few that I packed up took almost an hour each, but now that I got my system all down it's more like 10-15 minutes

I still haven't gotten my rulebook proof though :( hopefully it will show up today.

Is there any sort of estimate on the 15mm miniatures release?-You're minis are my excuse to get into this scale.

Made in us
The Last Chancer Who Survived

Norristown, PA

Well, unfortunately, the 15mm stuff is a ways off. The kickstarter didn't do well enough to unlock the other races, so right now I just have the 15mm terran light mechs I made originally way back when. I never did get the mediums done in 15mm. So there's a lot of production and master molds that would need to get made. I'd like to at least have 2-3 races done, since I want to do that as more of squad based a war game, not a skirmishy gladiator game.

So, don't hold your breath It's a long ways off, but it will happen eventually, just no idea when at this point. Once I get this Kickstarter all done and the models are ready for retail next year I'll be able to start getting some new sculpts done and then take it from there

Whoa, just got my package, and these are impressive! The casts and just overall models look much better than I'd even hoped for. Very well done, Necros!

I only wish you could've made it up to MechaniCon this weekend to show them off, as I think you have a real winner in these models that people will want just to paint / convert and use for all sorts of things . And, of course, their having a ruleset is nice and it would've been cool to see it demo'ed. Next time, though

My order found its way into my mailbox today, over a month ahead of the KS timeline, so well done there. The miniature (Terran medium mech "Disorder") has already been unbagged and prep work is starting.

The bad:
- One of the legs broke off somewhere in transit, but luckily the break is a clean one that should go together fine
- The heel of the broken leg looks like it got squished before the resin had time to harden.

The good:
- The metal pieces all look lovely and the buzzsaw looks better in person than it did in photographs (I hadn't realized it has twin sawblades).
- The resin is great to work with, allowing me to fix flashing, bubbles and so on with relative ease.
- Good big joint tabs, great for pinning the arms and shoulders on securely.

Not quite a shake and bake kit, but a nicely designed one nevertheless. I expect to be able to fix up most of the bubbles and mould issues with the tools at my disposal, and the rest, along with the damaged heel, will be touched up to look like the kind of damage you'd expect to see in an arena-fighting robot battlesuit.

Verdict: 4 out of 5 giant robot thumbs-up.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Sorry about the bubbles.. there were a few resin pieces that came out like that and I set those aside. I must have missed that one.. but I can send you a clean one if you want?

There was a bit more flash on the resin than I hoped but luckily it is easy to clean up. My invoice said it was spin cast resin molds, I was assuming they would have done it the old fashioned way .. I wonder if that's why there was more flash?

Over time I will probably be retiring some of the metal molds and moving over to resin for more parts.. some of them came out really heavy in metal, especially the drones. I wanted those to be cheap cannon fodder units, but they're going to end up costing almost as much as a light mech if I keep them with metal bodies.

I just dropped off the last batch of boxes at the post office, so I'm happy to announce that all pledges have been shipped!

Now that that's done, I'm going to be slowly updating the website and online store and adding a lot of content like downloads for the basic rules and roster sheets, and how to play videos and more. It will take a while to do it all so I'll be slowly adding things and I'll keep you all updated with posts here as new stuff happens, and I'll make a new post when the new website is ready to go.

I've been giving some more thought to the units for the game, and they'll need some testing before I make them happen. I'll probably put together an "experimental rules" section of the website for folks that want to test new stuff. So right now I'm planning two types...

Rookies will be more lightly armored, but they get defense bonuses for being in cover. They'll have plasma rifles and work a lot like a squad in games like 40K, where they all go after the same target and you roll 1D6 to hit for each guy in the squad. I'm thinking rookies will come 3 to a pack and squads will have 3-6 men. I'd like to do 6 unique sculpts so maybe a box of 6 would be better? And they would be on a 25 or 30mm base.

Then there's Pit Crew who will have heavy armor, 1 guy to a pack and squad size of 1-3. They would have 1 gun and 1 melee weapon.. I'm thinking Blasters, Plasmagun and Missiles, and then Buzzsaws, Drills and Jackhammers. They would be "ogre sized" models on a 40mm base.

And then we'll still have the drones for smaller units too. I'm going to see if I can have them done in resin for the retail release to bring the price down a bit.

So that's where I'm at now Thank you all for your support and help getting this game off the ground!

All Kickstarter pledges have been shipped, and now the online store has been updated and all models are available now! I wasn’t expecting to have them ready for general sale until January, but since the KS shipped early I can launch the store early too

So, you can head over to http://www.mechadrome.com to check it out. Right now that will just forward you to the online store, eventually I’ll be building a full Mechadrome website with galleries and videos and downloads and more. That will probably take a month or 2 to finish up.

All orders over $100 get free US shipping, or for foreign orders over $100 you can save $10 on shipping with the coupon code “ROWSHIP"

There’s also a link there to download the game rules for free. The printed rulebook has a lot more content plus detailed background for the game universe and also each team and pilot. The PDF version is “just the rules”. I’ll also have the rulebook available print on demand through Wargame Vault shortly.
