Hello, I've been wondering about running FOW with 3mm models due to cheaper models, smaller board size, and potentially larger tank fights.

Does anyone have any experience with this, such as how big a board size would be, base sizes, etc?

I've done some searches and come up with different bits; change inches to cm, just run it as it is,...

thanks!

I know some people who played it in 6mm. 6mm is cheap and converting ranges is easy, simply exchange inches for centimeters i.e. 6" becomes 6cm.

I am quite interested in your conclusions about this.
I have bought a German and a US army at this scale, and I am planning to base them in platoon.

That could be games of two companies a side. For distances, you might want to divide by two.

I was thinking to use mini-dices to mark the losses.

However, I might go with a totally different ruleset such as Panzer Kommander, spearhead or Test of Battle.
