I got the Open Fire starter the other day and was very pleased with it.

The mini rulebook, however, has fallen apart after a day, but that's ok because I plan to buy the full size hardback anyway.
I would like to know what everyone though of hardback's quality before I spend around 30 quid on it. Is it gonna fall apart on me just as quick as the A5 book did?

Cheers.

I haven't had any trouble with mine, but to be fair I haven't had time to use it as much as I'd like either.

But so far so good. I haven't had trouble with any of their other hardcovers either, and those have seen a good bit more use by me.

Take the mini rulebook to your local office store and have it spiral bound and the covers laminated. Not only will it be cheaper, but it will be easier than lugging around another hardcover book to your games.

I plan to carefully removed the pages, put each in their own poly pocket (have loads, thanks Amazon), and then into a small ring binder. This will make it easier to divide and move rules around if need be

Thanks guys, I think I'll grab a copy as I like the look other books

That looks really nice Ghaz. Sadly nowhere nearby in N.Ireland does coil binding.

I emailed FoW customer service about it, and they're sending a replacement. So I'll have a spare to coax a friend into joining the war effort ^^

Save the money you'd spend on the hardback rulebook to buy more minis.

Surely one of these must be close to you? http://www.yell.com/s/bookbinding-northern+ireland.html

I'm also in the "find a place to do some binding" camp. Here any copy shop will do it, so I would think that you should be able to find it. It's lighter, easier to transport, and you can buy a lot of models for what you would spend on a hardback.

Looks like they're in your neck of the woods and should do spiral binding according to their website, plus it looks like you can pick up some Winsor & Newton brushes at the same time.

I'll look into those before buying the big book, thanks everyone.
