I was told that the battalion was no good and that I would no nothing with the marauders so it was better to just load up on wariors of chaos. But I think I have managed to make a decent 800pts list out of just the battalion and one additional Character.

Heroes
Tzeentch wizard lore of metal lv1 enchanted shield

Core
12 warriors MoT shields
20 maurders MoS flails (slaanesh was all I could afford)
5 warhounds
5 warhounds

Special
5 knights MoK ensorcelled weapons

Thoughts this comes to only £74!

From the title I thought you said 80 points WoC army, and wondered how. o.O

This is pretty straightforward and solid, I think. I'd make a few changes though.

First, separate the marauders into two units of 10. Slaanesh likes smaller units because it protects them against panic and makes them expendable... which marauders certainly are. It'll also let you charge in multiple times with the flail bonus. You could even go for units of 5. You do not want to be in sustained combats with flails because they're useless after the first round, so might as well get 'the first round' more often.

The wizard should either be Lore of Tzeentch or Lore of Fire (and be unmarked). Metal is good on a level 4 (or a level 2 with familiar) because you have a good chance of getting the really awesome buff spells. With only a level 1 you're very likely to get junk, and the signature spell is next to worthless for us because armor isn't all that troublesome in the first place for our units in general. Fire has a very nice, solid signature spell that allows some ranged support (which we lack), as well as Lore of Tzeentch (though it's more swingy). I'd lean towards fire, especially at lower points values, and basically just plan on taking Fireball every time.

I'm also not a fan of MoT with shields. I have a post on the Tactics forum explaining why. Why'd you go with that combo?

But as for being able to actually use the models, sure, I think this would do fine. I don't think the marauders will find much use unless you actively try to use them, as they're generally a subpar choice, but they're not terrible. Just not as awesome as the rest of our book.

Sorry about the typo in the title typing on tablets can be frustrating.

I took mark of tzeentch on the warriors because a) I love tzeentch and b) other combos were to expensive for this.

Haha don't be sorry, it was entertaining trying to figure out how to make an 80 points WoC list!

If you love Tzeentch, then go for it. You might want to consider switching to halberds, though. If you knock out one warrior so you have 11 + sorceror, is that giving you enough points to switch them to halberds? At small point values they should be able to slaughter anything they come into contact with before taking many hits back.

Yeah, but know I have thoughts of going all out khorne with an exalted hero and mark of khorne everything to play more offensively. All my other wargaming armies are very defensive. I shall begin to work on a khorne list!

You're a man after my own heart. Go for it! Just remember to give them halberds.

OK time for some khornate fun! (Is that how you spell khornate?)

Heroes
Exalted hero mark of khorne burning body halberd

Core
11 khorne warriors halberds
5 warhounds
20 marauders flails mark of khorne

So what do you think of my khorne army? Should I split the marauders?

Time for some RIP AND TEAR

Split the marauders and then go nuts. Burning Body is pretty wasted, though. Swap for Dragonhelm for equal point cost and a boost to defense.

I think you forgot to add in the Chaos Knights of Khorne with Ensorcelled Weapons, which brings it all up to 800 points on the dot.

Go for it!
