Hello Dakka forums, I am new to Warhammer 40k the table top game, I have always enjoyed modeling, and understand how the games works, but have never played the game. On Fridays I hang out at a local store where I paint for commission, and have decided to buy an army and hop in. I have always loved doing orks so it was an obvious choice, plus they were just updated so it worked out well. So this is my first ever army list, which is an unbound list. Before I start I should mention 1850 - 2000 is a typical game here, and the shop lets players use any models from forgeworld as well, it is all also friendly games, no competitions. So here it goes...

Warboss (Warlord) w/ Kombi-weapon w/ Skorcha, Power Klaw, Cybork Body, 'Eavy Armor, Da Lucky Stikk - 129 points

Buzzgob - 100 points
Boss Grotsnik – 160 points

Weirdboy w/ Warphead - 70 points

Big Mek w/ 'Eavy Armor, Shokk Attack Gun, Cybork Body, Gitfinda - 99 points

Mekboy w/ Killsaw, Kustom Mega-Blasta - 50 points

Mekboy w/ Killsaw, Kustom Mega-Blasta - 50 points

5 Tankbustas w/ Boss Nob, Boss Pole - 80 points
(Transport) Big Trakk w/ 2x Big Shoota's, Armour Plates, 2x Pintle Mounted Big Shoota's, 2x Grot Sponsons, Wreckin' Ball, Grot riggers, Flakka Gun - 125 points

8 Burna Boyz + 1 Mekboy w/ Killsaw, Kustom Mega-Blasta - 169 points
(Transport) Ork Warkopta w/ Skorcha, TL Rattler Kannon, Red Paint Job - 80 points

5 Nobz + 1 Boss Nob w/ 5x power klaws, 5x Kombi-Skorcha's, TL Shoota, Bosspole, 7x 'Eavy Armor - 312 points
(Transport) Ork Warkopta w/ Skorcha, TL Rattler Kannon, Red Paint Job - 80 points

5 Lootas - 70 points

5 Lootas - 70 points

Grot Mega Tank w/ Doza Blade, Grot Riggers, Reinforced Ram, 2x TL grotzooka's, 3x grotzooka's, 1 pintle mounted shoota, 2x Boom Cannister, Wreckin Ball - 175 points

3 Grot Tanks w/ 4x Rokkit Launcha, 3x Pintle Mounted Shoota's, 1 Kommando - 180 points

1999 points exactly, let me clarify a few things too. The Warboss, Buzzgob, Grotsnik and a Mek will join the 6 Nobs in the Warkopta to be dropped into the fray as a CC monster squad (I could even put the Weirdboy with them if I get the Deep strike power.) The 2nd Mek will join the Tankbustas in the Big Trakk. The Big Mek will hang with the Grot tanks, and the Weirdboy will be put somewhere depending on warp powers.

I realize I do not have a lot of bodies, but I have a lot of firepower, most of which is longish range, and a monster deathstar CC squad.

Please realize this is my first list I have ever made, so I greatly encourage all constructive criticism.

Thanks you very much,
WyattEarb

I see no troops. This goes along with your comment of not a lot of bodies.

I have played warkoptas several times and only saw them last more than one turn because I moved them laterally turn1. That said, I love them. Flat out farther than trukks and over terrain, even. But because 5 bolter marines or 1 chimera can bring it down without hardly trying, don't expect much out of them. I have never fired the Rattler kannon, so I would suggest dropping them and the RPJ (really, you need 31" instead of 30" so badly?). Maybe even drop a mekboy or two, since they won't have anything to repair.

Also footnobz are maybe not the CC Deathstar you hope them to be. Usually 3 PKs are plenty.

I love the grot tanks, tho. Those guys might turn out to be your surprise MVPs.

you think I should remove two PKs and the red paint and add a generic boys squad?
