Got the Knight codex and saw that they had a large blast melta cannon thing, so I wanted to try it out with my Salamanders. Not sure of the competitiveness of this list and it’s a bit different from what I’m used to, but I’m wanting to try it out for some fun. Thoughts?
Vulkan – 190
5 Sternguard, 5 combi-meltas, drop pod, melta bombs – 210
2x 10 man tac squad, combi-melta, melta, drop pod – 390
2x 5 man tac squad, flamer, las-plas razorback – 300
2x HF/MM dreadnoughts, drop pods – 290
2x Stalkers - 150
Thunderfire cannon – 100
Imperial Knight Errant – 370
First turn I’m thinking, bring the 2 dreadnoughts and a tac squad down, saving Vulkan and the Sternguard for 2nd turn to to take out any armor the dreads or knight (if it got close enough) didn't take out. If there's any MCs or terminators, they go after them. 2nd podded tac squad will land on any TacOs that are needed. Stalkers and TFC hang out in the backfield providing support, while the Knight runs up the board, taking out any armor or heavy troops, eventually getting into melee range. Razorback squads cruise around, going for objectives and doing drive-by flamings.
Admittedly, the Sternguard might be a bit overkill, but I just want a cool retinue for Vulkan.
